I am glad I found this web site. I am fairly new to trading and am mostly interested in trading Futures. Like most newbies, I thought I could turn a small account into a large account easily. Sadly I turned my small account into a smaller account. I am learning to be smarter on how I trade and I am determined to be successful in trading! I currently use TOS but am thinking about switching to Ninja. Hopefully I can lear lots and be active in this forum.
I have a pretty extensive background in web development, application development leveraging a variety of trading instruments. I'm a self taught application programmer, and my goal is to start a business or have the opportunity to work for a reputable company or individual in the financial industry.
Been browsing this forum for a few weeks. I've recently taken a renewed interest in trading. It's something I've been interested in for a loooong time and like many many others when I first delved in I took the completely wrong angle, knowing almost zero about the psychology, minimal basics about risk management and constantly looking for the best system or indicator or automated setup or whatever else.
First really started learning way back in 2004-2005ish - tried my hand at some live trading, lost a couple thousand or so, withdrew my remaining funds. Had a bit of a crisis in my life completely unrelated which made me completely ignore trading and many other things in life for quite some time but I've always had it in my mind that trading is extremely interesting to me. I love the markets, I love understanding how it all works, etc - I could see myself easily developing a strong passion towards it.
So anyway, I'm finally back for the first time probably since 2007 (no coincidence with the 2007 market crash either) and trying to approach this all from the right direction this time, starting with psychology and risk management as well as developing a trading plan, recording results, reviewing results/trades for errors, correcting errors, treating it like a real business instead of a magic elusive formula.
I'm currently very interested in Futures - particularly looking at the index futures and hoping to get back into the game here.
I currently actually have a specific idea in mind of what I'd like to trade and somewhat how. I've taken an interest in the ES and looking to develop a methodology/plan/practice trading the morning session of the actual market open in NY (9:30 til around noon) using some sort of short term scalping method likely involving price action. But like I say, working on the other factors to the plan first and making sure I've got my head straight before I start figuring out a set of rules to a method.
I'm an analytical introvert and I absolutely love the whole world of finance & economics, all aspects of it. I think day trading would be a really good fit of a profession for me in life.
This looks like a great forum full of many awesome people willing to share and help and I look forward to seeing more of you all!
I am glad to join this forum. I have been busy navigating and reading excellent posts from fellow traders. I am a beginner interested in trading Index futures. Hope to participate in forums and learn.
Signed up a few weeks ago but haven't had a chance to look around much as yet, but looks great so far.
I've traded stocks (Aussie market) & US stock options in the past (sporadically over 10 yrs) and recently moved to FX. Have had more losses than wins over that period like many others. I'm determined to get into full time day trading in FX and/or futures but need to improve my market knowledge & trading skills.
Really interested to read other's experiences in the futures market, learn about platforms, brokers, data feeds, etc. as it's a bit more complex than using MT4 to trade FX.
Hello, I just join Big Mike's Forum about a fortnight ago, and I am still new how to post in this community and where to find a replay for my post. I will keep coming back to search this site. In the meantime I like to introduced myself, I have been trading for equity market, CFD, and now Forex for few years, still learning to become a better trader.
I have 3 live accounts with 3 different brokers, I like to have account manager that I can get in touch with when I needed. From this trading forum, I find few good videos and I ended up signed up to become a member from one of tutorial video. cheers.
