Attached are screenshots of your above request. Also, currently, an open chart for the CL with settings in attachements is showing "No Instrument". Also see screen shot. Remember, the settings are, well, set to my last attempt to get data flowing.
As far as the scaling term - I was attempting to convey that the 4 point bars were spanning from top to bottom of the chart window (maximized). Can't get the CL chart to show any data now or I would post a screen shot of it also.
I would create new ones. Tools -> Data Sources, deactivate the ones you don't use and make sure Rithmic has your correct credentials and is enabled.
Then add a new symbol, Instrument -> Add manually. Exchange should be NYMEX. I noticed yours was NYME. Maybe they both work, but for my Zen I am using NYMEX. Then the rest of your settings looked right.
That (adding new symbols), Mike, is one thing that I have NOT tried. You are correct, I did "edit" the original eSignal symbol, many times. And, yes, Rithmic is NYMEX also. The previously attached pictures were the last attempt - I was trying anything by that time just to get it to work - no rhyme or reason.
I will begin the process of implementing your suggestions and post the results as soon as I can - it may be tomorrow, but will continue to shorten the learning curve.
I have data flowing now for CL. I am glad there are people smarter than me.
Which brings up the issue that was not fixed the last time I had data flowing: The data on the chart is not plotting like I think it should.
Attached you find screenshots of a MCDT chart with CL 4 point settings and several screen shots of the chart window settings and instrument settings.
Notice that the 4 point setting is filling the screen almost from top to bottom in one bar - looks like a broken zig-zag line. Again, I am using a Rithmic data feed.
I am almost there. Can any help with the correct settings?
Okay, this feels like a DUH! moment! IT'S WORKING!!!!!!!!! See screenshot below.
Would anyone know where I could get the correct settings (price scale, min movement, big point value, etc) for Rithmic symbols? Maybe this should be known and I have asked my broker for such a "list" but they didn't know what I was asking for - I am sure it was me though.
I am use to TOS - put the symbol (they give you a list) in and everything appropriately scales. Yes, I know that I could keep using TOS, but lately, for me anyway, the platform is becoming "jumpy". Oh, I like NT7 too, but not as much as MC at this point.
Thanks again for putting up with an old fart like me!!
Until MultiCharts adds dictionary support for Zen Fire/Rithmic, you have to just do it manually. Be sure to voice your concerns to MultiCharts --- go to their project management site, MultiCharts Project Management and tell them you really need a symbol dictionary for Rithmic.
Price scale is pretty easy. How many digits is the symbol quoted in? CL is 2 (so 1/100), 6E is 4 (so 1/10000), ES is 2 (so 1/100) etc. As for the min movement, ES moves in .25 increments so 25. CL moves in .01 increments so 1. 6E moves in 0.0001 increments so 1. As for daily limit, I think it's obsolete feature. For big point value, you have to do some math after knowing the value of each tick. CL is $10.00 a tick, and 100 ticks in a point, so $1000. ES is $12.50 a tick, and 4 ticks in a point, so $50.
I'm making some test , seems be possible getting bid/ask data . I'm getting data from Esignal , if i choose granularity 1 tick , I'm able only to retrieve a day( 1MIL record for Bid , the same for Ask) but this is caused from MC limitation to display 1 mil. bar max. see attachment to obtain more bars displayed.
