I'm a newb to this forum and to trading in general. I'm not yet trading even in a practice account, but researching, looks like NT and Big Mike's is the place to start. I nearly went into the industry out of college (15 years ago), interviewing multiple times for a commodities trading position with a fortune 50 company, but that fell through and I chose different career path. I've researched off and on over the years and am finally ready to apply myself consistently and see where it takes me. I'm amazed by the willingness of so many people to share information for the betterment of everyone, glad to be a part and hope to be a knowledgeable contributor in time.
Glad to be here...
I had 5 years experience in stock and future trading. Not success in the first few years but made some money after getting to know about system trade and money management.
Now I'm going to start with options trading, still need to spend lot of times to study...
I just found the site doing a day-trade search. I've been successful on growth stocks for the last 3 years and am simply curious about the prospects of day-trading. Thanks for the welcome and I look forward to sharing experience and success.
Hi Everybody, Im new to trading, just reading and playing on a few sim accounts. This forum seems to have depth of knowledge so i decided to join and try to learn a few things. I fiqure in a few weeks I should be making truck loads of $ by staring at a squiggly line on my screen.
All jokes aside, Im trying to find out if I can trade on the right edge of my charts (without blowing it up and having to sell one of my rental houses to keep going).
At the poker table if you cant immediately spot the fish, you are the fish.
Right now Im pretty sure Im the fish. I think this forum will help. Mike did a nice job on it.
I'm excited to have stumbled along this great forum to share thoughts and strategies.
I have been trading a little over a year now and understand I am looking at the tip of the iceberg with my knowledge. I'm currently using CQG trader and trade mostly grain futures.
I look forward interacting with other traders and learning a bit from others experiences.
I´m glad to join this forum.
I have been trading for quite a long time, during this time I blew up my account a couple of time, however I am determined to become in a successful trader.
By now I´m enrolled in a trading room, I´m doing a hard work and I have to say that I think that I am on the right way, this trading room has completely changed my vision about the market.
I mainly trade the Cl, gold and TF.
Hope to grow up as a trader with all of you.
My name is Ed. I've been trading the ES consistently since the start of this year. I've lost more than what I would like to admit during the first 8 months. They say that most traders don't last 6 months and I almost became part of that statistic.
About 2 months ago I came across the book "The Disciplined Trader" by Mark Douglas that has made a big positive impact on my trading. I'm no longer bleeding money every week. Instead I'm going through a break-even phase these last 3 months. I never thought how a proper mindset could make such a big difference, always considered that kind of stuff psychobabble. The next thing that stopped the bleeding was money management, I didn't have one during my first 8 months and was the 2nd reason why I lost every week.
I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and also learning from you all. I would say don't take as long as I did to post my introduction (I joined 7 months ago) because there is so much you can learn from this site (from what I can see) that will hopefully prevent you from making the same mistakes that wipes out the rookies by their 6 month of trading.
