first post here. New to the futures.io (formerly BMT) forums but have been trading full time for a couple years now and doing pretty well. Got on here to get more information about cumulative delta and a few other random things. Figured i could learn a bit. Sitting for CMT L2 in May. Like to trade leveraged stock scalps off volume profiles and getting more and more into futures trading all the time.
Cheers
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I think this ismy first post but I will have to check. I am fairly new to Bigmike and been scrolling many threads searching for information. I am new to trading futures but have experience in forex.
I have just began using sierra charts and I have to say it is very confusing at first.
I have to say that this website seems quite confusing although it has an immense amount of information. As a newbie I can't help feeling swamped by the experience on here and I often shy away from even replying to a thread because everyone seems to be so informed of everything. Then the thread says see here ( another thread ) then there are many examples of what people do etc etc but it often takes about 5-6 searched to gather information which I then loose sometimes.
I hope that my experience on Bigmike especially as an elite member can be alot better than it has been so far.
I hope to break out my shell and literally start pming people if I can't finds the info I want. If I come across rude or fustratred at times please don't blame me because it takes two to communicate and I feel bigmike has a pm service for a purpose.
More importantly if I ask questions that have already been answered please either direct me to the source of info or pm me appropriately. I am currently confused about why Sierra rolled me over to the month of March when we are clearly most liekly in Feb.
Hello everyone, I am the newest of newbies, I have never traded other than to invest and reshuffle my not terribly insignificant portfolio (stocks, mutual funds) and to move currencies from my own account in one country to my own account in another.
I am a freelance translator working from a home office and find that the market in this field is slowly slipping out from under me, for various reasons. This means my income is dropping, and I have to consider what my options are. I haven't worked in an office or for a "boss" in over 15 years, and frankly I'm afraid if I tried to, it might kill me.
I have been interested in finance and investment for a couple of decades now, and since people keep telling me how smart I am, I keep thinking there must be a way to leverage my brainpower to at least supplement my current income. I have toyed with the idea of "day trading" forever, but have never seriously looked into it. I KNOW it's (highly) risky, and I KNOW it takes a hell of a lot more knowledge and skill than I currently possess, not to mention training and practice. This has always put me off even doing the research - but I think now it's time.
What I need to find out first is if trading (I'm thinking ForEx given my own experience with currency transfers, maybe index eminis) is even a viable option for me and whether I have enough capital for whatever the initial investment would need to be - well, I have it if you count the nest egg, but the real question is whether I even have the stomach to make such an initial investment. I don't know anything about software and trading platforms, about subscriptions and monthly fees (or whether there is a way to do this without monthly fees), etc. etc.
In short, I am starting out a completely blank slate, and hoping I can fill it up with *real* information, not just what those sites want to sell me.

I started trading SGX derivatives full time from 2005 with S$200K capital. I made money 7 out of the last 10 years. My total profits to date is around S$1,271,000.
In the last 10 years, I have 59 days where I lost more than S$10K. All those big daily losses add up to S$2,570,000. 1 USD = 1.34 S$ (SGD).
On 16Nov12 I lost S$570K in one day trading the Nikkei 225 futures. I reduced my trading capital from more than a million USD to about S$150K after that fateful day.

Wow, sir, I admire how incredible you are at what you do. I'm sure you know even the drawdowns are a part of the learning experience and I would sell my soul and body to achieve what you have achieved. I do hope we can become friends and the best of luck to you moving forward with your trading in 2015! You're in the right place.
My only suggestion would be that if, or when, you decide to trade live, trade a micro forex account (or equivalent) so you only lose tens of cents instead of tens of dollars per trade. Why lose so much when your learning? It will take awhile.
trading experience:
1 year forex( so much lose at this time).
1 year futures( ES, YM, TF) - last my success was on january 2015 - double my account but then lost all because of increase amount of trading contracts( my mistake).
My method: 1. my psychology 2. indicators( mostly volume stuff, no oversold/overbought indicators).
I'm a 27 year old French guy interested in investing money.
I started to get interested in markets with binary options which is more of gambling to me.
Then I heard about real options on a coaching website and I followed the course +reading a lot of stuff in books and e-books. Just did some paper trading but now try to open a real account but hard times to find a one good and authorized for alien citizens.
I'm on the way to start with trademonster.com now becoming optionshouse.com but not easy to fill the due diligence questionnaire.
That's about me.
It's nice to find a serious community about trading.
I hope I will be able to share good information soon, can't wait to start.
Hello, my browser tells me I've been a member for 415 days and have yet to make a post. I've been playing around with futures for probably about 5 yrs, I've blown a couple small accounts, can't seem to loose the idea of being a successful trader for a few reasons. I've gone from indicators to price action and everything in between and no doubt my problems thus far has been lack of discipline, psychological issues(probably from lack of confidence from bouncing around too much), and plain old just have some patience with trying what I already know. I think a partner/mentor/someone to bounce ideas off would definitely be helpful. trading has taught me a few things about myself that i would have not wanted to admit before and that is also a reason I am yet to be profitable, I still need to admit and accept my strengths and weaknesses. Good to be here and hope I can be a lot more consistent in the future.
