So this is why i asked you this question.. People that use CD, i've noticed that area's of interest for them seem to coincide with MP areas...... except they all tell me that they use overnight data... Now i do look at overnight trading, but only look at the extremes(high or low). I don't think that the actually volume that trades overnight is enough to cause people to panick....
I've even tested the results of overnight trading relative to session only.... and session only seems more accurate to me.
Me2 Michael .. smile .. I pay more attention to Overnight High and Low for breakdown and breakout reference. I also learn that I should be flexible with the special reference points, ie considering them as areas of attention and not single points.
Thanks Mike for keeping us informed. Be sure to good care of yourself (incl enough hours of zozozo and a well-balanced lifestyle such as healthy diet and regular exercises) so that we have you behind us all the time.
Glad to learn about the additional right-hand 'man' arrangement. You will be back to your preferred trading schedule in no time!
I have been keeping an eye on your journal and its nice to see you progressing.
Thanks for posting the link to the MACDBB indicator video a short time ago. I find the indicator to be helpful to show reversals and developing trends when the Balls are riding above/below the BB lines. The video gives a few other nuances which I found to be very helpful as well.
In a recent screenshot you show the snapback indicator. Is that one of the many from KwikPop, or is it available elsewhere?
Thanks Bobcat for your support and best wishes. I uncovered the MACDBB indicator after reading a d9 post. Had no clue how to use it then and am glad that the video gives me a short training session. Great that you enjoyed it too.
Regarding the snapback indicator, I got an Apr 09 package from a trading forum. Not sure if we have an equiv one here. I do not remember how I got most indicators in my computer (and I have not been using them for months). If you want the zip file and play with it, please private message me with your email address and I can dig it out and send it over.
Not sure if my eyes are imagining things .. Price currently trades around 1124 (13+ points over Fri Close @1110.25)?! Are there news over the weekend?!
Well, enclosed bolded VPOCs (Top/Bottom) have to be modified if it stays above 1113.00 when it opens tomorrow, ie
Top VPOC 1128.50 (instead of 1113.00)
Bottom VPOC 1113.00 (instead of 1099.00)
I did a crispy weekend recap mainly on my performance (not the system/indicators as they are due for performance review next weekend, ie every two weeks). I believe I have done quite well .. smile.
With your continuous support and guidance, I am definitely going to be a Successful Trader in the very near future. Agree?!
Guess what I did?? I had a sudden urge to share my Big Mike experience in an interview which I submitted to the following Win Lifetime Multi-charts licence thread LOL (Post #22 on page 3 - what a coincidence 22 is my favorite number I just realized):
Oh, I do not make enough for the commission today ...
Before commission, I am a little green $12.50. After commission, I am a little pinky -$7.50!
Goal Accomplished: Both are A trades. B- for me as I need to work on my trade management skill.
Good news: I made $90 real $ for a TF trade (possibly $80ish after commission). It's based on a strategy I've been sim-trading for weeks. My nerves cracked when it went against me. I did lots of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping on my forehead (now it hurts).
I'd give myself a C- for the beginning 10 minutes, then C+ for the remaining 18 minutes as I successfully closed the trade when I spotted the SMA 3/7 crossover Exit. I also adjusted the initial 25 SL to 9 after checking the PA movement. This real trade experience simply tells me I need more live trading to overcome my emotion challenge.
Note: The strategy's trade was triggered after my sim-trade practice.
Beth (Mixed feelings - both happy and light-headed. I finally did my first trade!)
Initial Balance: 1121.50 - 1127.50 (6 points) Value Area as at 11:35 am: 1125.25 - 1123.25 - 1120.25 (5 points)
Price opened @1126.50
Today's High and Low as at 11:35 am: 1127.50 and 1120.00 (7.5 points)
VPOCs: Top 1128.50 and Bottom 1113.00
Open price gapped up 16+ points from Friday's close @1110.25. Considering all 1-digit narrow range for IB, VA and today's trading + choppiness, I expect an unexpected rotation either Up or Down in the afternoon. Let's see if it may happen!?
In any event, be Mr Market's friend and trade with the Trend!
