Since ES is moving up this morning I took off my extra long puts. Made 1.00 profit.
I will probably add them back on next week for
Fed announcement.
Ron,
when did you put them on? did you share your thoughts on why you put on extra puts when you did?
Thanks,
/rsm005/

Sorry I posted the trade in other thread.
I entered near to closing on Friday. Bought ESv6p1800. Bought one month in front of current Nov positions because it was a higher strike and higher delta .

Ya..I didn't see the drop until later in the day...was stuck in meetings at work. By the time it happened it was already too late.

The USDA Report was bearish corn, beans and cotton.
Sold the SF C11 after the report.
Best regards, Myrrdin

@ron99
Do you trade full time? Are you watching your screens all day or do you have a day job? Just curious more than anything else.
Thanks,

Thinking of opening a small position. Today.
ES..
Sell 10 contracts of 1850 Dec puts.
Buy 20 contracts of 1550 Dec puts.
Ron mentioned a while back something about the first half of September not being so good for selling ES historically.
Should I wait till after Fed meeting or decrease my Delta or both
thoughts?
Thanks

No, I said selling for first half of Sep was good. Selling now is bad. Wait until beginning of Oct to sell.

Here is what happened when Fed raised interest rates on 12/16/15. It was up on day it was announced then crashed 72 the next 2 days. But 5 days later it was back up.
12/15/15 2037
12/16/15 2064
12/17/15 2025
12/18/15 1992
12/23/15 2053
12/29/15 2073
So if they raise the rates then I will wait for crash and then sell ES puts.
