I am a physician with earlier interest in Economics which recently morphed into trading. I have moved on from fundamental analysis to technical 12 months ago. After becoming a futures.io (formerly BMT) member last month, I made a leap of faith to DOM. Recently addicted to Jigsaw tools. It's been a fascinating journey with twists and turns and my goal is to have fun without losing lot of money in 2015 and eventually become a profitable trader and flexible hours physician!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Greetings,
Happy New Year!!! I have no experience in trading but have experience with money market, 401K, and Total Stock Market Index. A friend introduced me to your forum and I was inspired to join to learn about day trading. I get my business news from the local TV networks and I watch a lot of NHK World TV news with Ai Uchida. I hope to contribute to the group as well.
Cheers, RakuLu
Hello to all. I'm new to trading and want to trade futures. I've looked around and all I find are people wanting to sell me a product or service. I did try one and it was a good introduction to stock trading. The problem I have is trying to find someone that is truly interested in teaching. I don't mind paying for education but I'm not interested in all the hype that's out there. I want to trade for a living but I feel like someone has asked me to do gallbladder surgery and I don't even know where it's located. HELP!!!!!!
I am having problems learning how to use this web site. it seems everything I try I am not allowed to do.
I gave up a long time ago but am back trying once again to learn my way around. apparently I have to post to be able to post. haha. so I am posting here.
I used to study gold a long time ago when it was hot. now I study ES more. but it was slow today.
I have not made any trades as yet. I do not have an account but I do have Ninja Trader. I love it.
I've been on a few forum sites (both vendor, ie trade station and community) and I'm hoping this one has less of the garbage I have found on other community boards.
I would classify my 'trading development' level as early consistent... which means that I have proven, at least to myself, that I am consistent and profitable ... though the profitable is not hugely profitable. I'm need to see that I can be consistent over time.
For anybody that wants my two cents on want got me here it goes 1) DO NOT follow someone else trading rules and 2) be patient... it takes time to really digest and apply the information (or to get the context to apply the setup).
I'll add, for any newbees, make sure you spend time on trader psychology... wish I would have spent more time in this area when I was starting... some have said that most of trading is between your ears and if you deal with that it will save you dealing with it later with the baggage that comes from having bad trading experiences.
Anyway I was watching recording, John Hoagland - Order Flow/Tape Reading "The New Pit", and there was mention of a recording regarding journals... if anyone knows the recording please post/send the link to me.
I joined this forum a couple of months ago and then got busy and promptly forgot about it - but am rectifying that oversight now! As a total newbie, can someone please tell me how to submit a new question? I wrote a strategy in Tradestation Easylanguage, and I want to print the name of the strategy on the chart (so when I load it I always know that I have the correct strategy running - because TS does not indicate that anywhere.) Does anyone here know how to get the "Strategy Name" from within EasyLanguage?
I'm getting back into trading full-time after being an equities prop trader from 2001-2007. I'm trading futures now and work on fully automating my set-ups on Ninja Trader. My preferred instrument is CL. Searching for resources I came across Big Mike's.
Good trading to everyone and big thanks to Big Mike!
I'm new to trading and to Multicharts. I have spent the last few months designing a system (I work full time, not in trading), however am seriously struggling to get my head around EasyLanguage / PowerLanguage....even to code simple things like a volatility spot loss! Argh!
Looking forward cracking this very steep coding learning code!
