I daytrade DAX futures. Used to trade stocks, and then currencies, but now it's almost exclusively DAX, even though I keep myself up to date on CL/EUR/ES/etc.
I've got quant background, but for manual trading simpler is better. As to manual, the exits are usually manual whereas I enter using stop orders.
Decent programming and quant skills. and looking to develop algos, but time is limited...
Happy to help and assist, if I can.
My nom de plume refers to Ikkyu. Bushido informs my mental approach to trading.
I stumbled across futures.io (formerly BMT) a few months ago and since then I have only been a "lurker" given the copious number of high-quality posts on this site. It really gobbles up time to go through the experiences, questions and advice of all the wonderful traders that are part of this forum, and for that I am truly grateful.
Unfortunately, clowns and charlatans line up the vast breadth of the online trading world and it is refreshing to have a go-to place for feedback and points of view of serious, friendly and capable traders.
I hope to remain a member of this forum for many years to come, and although I do not have much to offer at this point in time, it is only because of the high caliber of futures.io (formerly BMT)'s members - it is not easy contributing to a collection of experienced and competent bunch!
Best of luck (or is that a faux-pas?) in the markets and in life!
Hi everybody, I've been a member of this website since 2010 and a market enthusiast since even before that, but I never really posted or have taken full advantage of this website. This is my year to become a consistent/profitable trader and with the formal education I am taking and this community I hope to reach my goal.
Thanks to @BigMike and all of you for making this a great website!
My name is Robert. I have been an amateur day trader on and off for more than 10 years. I have zero professional or industry knowledge and only trade based on research and logic, which can be scary sometimes. I have lost six figure dollar amounts and gained similarly in the time and have been fortunate enough to never post a loss on my tax return at the end of a calendar year.
My new adventure is in etf's and etn's. Since January I was up 112.02% until last week when I lost most gains in a single arrogant greedy trading day.
Now that I am tired of working for the man (corporate America), I want to really dig in and learn everything and become a full time trader.
Trading: Equities, then ETFs, then maybe just maybe Futures ?

Hello,
After successfully day trading ES for 1 month in a virtual account with optionsexpress and losing 1K in 1 week once I started live with the following indicators: Volume, RSI, MACD(12,26,9). I have decided to go back to the drawing board. Options express is roughly 9 bucks round trip.
I am looking for advice on a favorite platform that could potentially do auto-trading(this will be something way down the line)? Which brokers do you use that offer the cheapest commissions plus lowest margin requirements for day trading ?
Which websites do you use for fundamental analysis regarding ES ?( I missed the 1pm announcement today from the federal reserve, definately want to be clued in on major announcements going forward)
Thanks in advance and I look forward to becoming an elite and consistent member. I have personal reasons why I should be trading, which is why I look at this as a second job and hopefully will become my only job in a decade or so. Looking long term in this!
Hi all,
Happy to be part of this forum, hope I will be able to learn and share a lot.
I am trading FX since 2004 and use TradeStation to backtest strategies on spot.
Cheers frds
Hi everyone,
Great forum you have here. I've been trading end of day for the past few years because of my job and have had my share of gains and losses. Not enough gains to quit my job though. I've recently started to use NT7 and hope to find useful information to help me succeed and contribute to help others when I can.
