Thank you KK240. Had I known those Dukascopy limitations I would have probably gone with MBT. In the last few weeks my trading has gone quite bad, dispite being 80% of the time right, I still end up loosing money. I desperately need to fix what I am doing wrong.
Having said that, I appreciate your explanations for connecting NinjaTrader to Dukascopy but I feel it is quite above me for now to start learning how to program. I and maybe others, will be looking forward to you publishing your bridge for connecting Ninja to Dukascopy.
With regards taking my money to MBT, I feel I need to get my act together and recover first, before exploring other options like MBT or IB.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Are you using they preference setting where place automaticly stops and targets.
Also you should use wide slipage. because if you try to close your position and you have tight slipage it won't close your position if markets are moving fast, swiss logic
If so, you should try quantisan break even strategy. this is because with these preference settings it using values what you can see green or red buttons, not actual fills for stops and targets.
I don't know how fast you scalp, but you can move your stops and targets from chart same way like in ninja. double click stop or target line and move it. It's faster than other ways.
Yes its good to pause trading and check where is problem,
I don't know what timeframe you are trading, for me eurusd have been easier for past two weeks, end of december and start of this year was harder.
Do you have psyhological trading problems, this be your own trading coach book is excellent help for you if so.
Some people are saying AUDUSD,and GPBUSD is easier trading than eurusd.
And maybe you trading results are bad for couple last week because your focus is not in trading, your are thinking SupeDom, and not liking Jforex interface, and how to fix, maybe 500$ is not bad price and buy DTN dukas bridge, you can use it 30 days, also for live account.
Thank you KK240 for you trying to help. As a scalper I feel, recently the GBP/USD has been a little choppy and the levels that the market has been establishing have often been violated by amount greater than my point of "dump my positions" and start over. Whipsawed was another problem or when I get out and want to get back in but miss it, because I am not too fast on the JavaForex price ajastment buttons. Having said that, I am not saying that having DOM feature would have prevented me from loosing recently but I may have minimized the damage a bit. Also I never use automatic stops, I get out when I stop liking the position.
So good luck with your NinjaTrader to Dukascopy Bridge development.
I reviewed the MBT commisions and the Dukascopy's and it seems MBT have a slightly better package overall. I feel that the way, Dukascopy treats its direct clients with regards to commisions is not very fair. I phoned them up asking about this IA business of 49% commission discount and all I got from them was "It's too late you allready signed up and you are stuck on 100% commissions, and even if you leave and try to come back via IA, we would not let you pay less". Thanks a lot guys ! Other than the above, I feel they have been OK, with regards to platform stability.
Yep it's your fault, you didn't find IA first and dukascopy after. It won't help you next time, when try to find broker, that you should try first find IA for broker, I think this is quite unique approach.
I like dukas stability. Its quite important for me, I had several horror situation with ninja and PAT systems ,several years ago, when ninja didn't show I had still position open, had to close ninja and open again, then it showed and happend quite often that my first market order during day didn't fill at all, and dom and basic entry was totally out of controll.
I stopped using ninja for entries. I think its only work well with zenfire/rithmic brokers.
Forum is good fattails post of intraday seosanality, and other post also sharkys rubberband and TheBoxForRange
Maybe jam the trader have found light he is not trading so often anymore in they singaltrading net room. It maybe can help you to avoid choppy markets.
Here is photo How I look market, and when trading and not trading. I also Use MP.
Writing to you from the wonderful province of Ontario, Canada. Home to the world's biggest natural negative ion generator, the Niagara Falls, and to those that dare to know how to go over it in a barrel. SALUTE!
Sorry in image it should be text EMA55 and HMA89,
as Trader.Jon point, I think maybe you should check your stops or you should start using non mental stops.
You could be 100% right in the market and still endup loosing money. A tipical example would be if you timing is off, like getting in too early or having too tight stops for the present volatility.
Thanks for your concerns !
I use MBT, just for charting need, they don't handle feed (at NT) as good as IB (if u use NT for charting, You'll love IB better)
in Forex case some times MBT "panic stop button" didn't much help here, hmmph ... I always blame my internet.
If you searching a good broker with Execution and a "freestyle" trading, despite their lame apply procedure that you must going through, Plus if you won't bother an awful chart. use dukascopy
I like MB. I have no experience with Dukascopy. I am not a huge fan of MB and ninja combination although I did it for a while with NT6.5. Both brokers offer MT5 (Metatrader) chart options which a lot of forex guys are familiar with. Both are pro organizations, safe, ecn, and all that, Dukas used to be 50k minimum account but I think they are both around 1k buy it now. Needing customers?
Try tradeinterceptor.com charting (free to use) with mb trading's desktp pro for entries. Trade inteceptor will allow you to see multiple broker feeds to compare. It has dukas too so you could put the two side by side and compare spreads. It also has an iphone version How cool is that. MB and dukas both have iphone apps as well but their charting isn't nearly as impressive. You can impress the girls at the drive-thru ... mogul style. Might have to upgrade your wheels though if you want to pull it off.
mb in house charting isn't that good. It's almost their trademark... Previously had lag issues with ninja and mb
