If you use the default volume indicator of NinjaTrader, you will make the same observations. So it is a NinjaTrader bug, that is Autoscale does not work correctly, if you overlay volume on price.
It is not specificly related to the BetterVolume indicator.
I am trying to incorporate your bettervolume indicator into a strategy using NT. The strategy requires COBC to be False as it uses a higher timeframe MACD confirmation (I am testing this in Market Replay as the Otpimizer/backtest apparently can't handle this).
I am finding that with COBC = False, low volume bars don't get colored in Market Reply and then also noticed they don't get coloured using real time live data. If I press F5 then the bars get coloured and if I look at historical charts the bar colours are fine.
Any clues as to how to get the low volume bars coloured when COBC = False ?
Many thanks for all your great indicators and inputs.
The Better Volume indicator was originally coded for fixed period (second, minute, daily) bars. I think that the low volume bars are not detected on tick, volume and range bars. What bar type do you use?
I'm looking at tick, range and better renko. The bettervolume indicator does detect the low volume bars when COBC=True but not when COBC=False. I'm trying to find a way to use this indicator with COBC=False.
I can modify the code. The code was done for minute bars, and it detects the low volume bars 15 seconds prior to the bar close. For other bar types you would need to wait for the bar close, I will modify the code, when I have a few minutes.
