Just to clarify, I started to respond to Daxy's last post and then found out that he was actually in Alex's chat room saying that he liked Alex and found the chatroom useful. Other people started questioning him about why he made the negative post but then takes the other side on the forum.
That's when I realized that he's mainly looking to get a rise out of people so I chose to delete my post and not engage him any further.
No offence but I think you're probably wrong. I don't know him from Adam but his posts did not come across as trollish, just as yet another guy who's having to lose a lot of nervous energy over this ridiculous farce.
I voted to unban him, I am not at all comfortable with the some of the more vocal members on future.io assuming this guy is guilty of all of the things being said without talking to him or letting him defend himself.
I believe a person should be able to speak to, and defend themselves from the charges BEFORE they are permanently banned.
I sent a PM to Big Mike yesterday on this and said then that I was in the unban camp, but after taking the time to listen to the you tube video, I am sure there is a lot of piling on going on here.
I can understand being skeptical as I was sold the holy grail of trading anytime time I was foolish enough to look on the internet for it, embarrassingly I fell for it more than once before I realized there is no such thing.
I am sure some no matter what some will condemn him because of past bad experiences, but before we all condemn rocksolid1 to a permanent ban don't you think we should look at his evidence?
Some folks keep fixating on how inexperienced he is to be running a room in the first place, or to have ever contemplated charging for it at all. How audacious to think he could teach anyone anything.
I just want to say, audacity, even arrogance, isn't cause for banning. And remember, this guy is a teenager still (yes, he showed his ID showing his age.. and listening to him live, you can hear his youth).
I remember when I was a teenager.. I got my first computer, and was learning to program in QBasic. I decided I was going to write a book on QBasic and sell it and get rich... LOL. It was a ridiculous notion. But that kind of audacity is part of being young. It's part of the drive that causes us to explore and pursue ridiculous ideas. We rarely ever accomplish them, but we often find ourselves along the way. 20 years later, I'm a software engineer for a living. I never wrote a book, but the audacity and enthusiasm behind the idea is what served to jumpstart my path.
Yeah, he may be a little too big for his britches... as some have pointed out his years of experience a relatively few. But he's young and smart, and has learned things about the market that I see a lot of older tradings still not "get." Is part of his success due to luck? Probably so... but that's not a crime either. He found something that he's been lucky with and it seems to be working for him. Why wouldn't he be excited? And why wouldn't he, in his youthful audacity, have had thoughts of trying to monetize his discovery.
Bottom line, to me, is that audacity, arrogance, and all the extremes and missteps that come with youth aren't grounds for removing him from the community.
According to the timeline, as I understand it, his actions have not violated the rules of the form. His posts mentioning the vendor he later worked for, were months before he ever worked for them. He thought they had the holy grail (a mistake he readily admits now) and then later went on to work for them.
He had ideas of starting his own trading room and charging for it... but after talking with Big Mike and others, realized it was better to do it for free. He's stuck with that and as far as I know no one as come forward and said he asked them for money.
So while he may be brash, audacious, etc... I don't see evidence of fraud. I see a youthful kid, that is excited about this business and about the community here at FIO. I would hate to see us take that away from him. He's got lots of growing to do, for sure. But I'd say this is a great place to do it.
