Im from montreal, I would say that I trade on and off the market since more than 10years : I spent many hours to study at a school and, after that, I did a lot of backtesting with 10 000 thecniques/strategies, etc
I started my real trade for real later...
Since that day I like what I do.
So I here to share with you my experience - the best and the worst!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
My Name is Mahathir. Im from Malaysia... Still new in forex... I usually using Fibo Fan, CCS and SNR as my base trading... need to find a great indicator for trading example like trend line indicator...
So in the 90's, I was trading the big, bad S&P with some proprietary S&R levels I had developed which were uncannily accurate. But as the ES became bigger and bigger, for some reason those S&R levels became less accurate.
The truth is, I was always a people's person and had wanted to be in the field of children's education, so instead of learning a whole new method of trading, I took the opportunity and became a teacher, and later a principal.
But my love of trading always stayed with me, and I figured that sooner or later I'd come back to it.
Greetings everyone!
I have been wanting to trade - doing so on paper and in my mind only - for years now. Recently I quit my job working for the government when, spontaneously, I just absolutely could not take it one more second.
So I jumped in. Made a little, lost about four times as much. Right now I'm on the razor's edge of not quite having enough money to make enough money to survive but am highly, highly motivated to succeed. Been studying so much I see charts when I close my eyes.
Recently paid an idiot tax by trying a service that purported to advise traders in real time and help them via consulting. The idiot tax wasn't the fee - I quit in the trial period - it was the stock I ended up in.
My educational background is political economics but college was a very long time ago. Since then...well, that was a long time ago.
Looking to learn about e-minis as a first priority and stocks as a second priority (thinking that microcap/small cap are the only ones to offer enough volatility to really utilize the small amount of capital I have available.
Love my boy. Doing this for me (cause I really want to) and him (so I'm not gone 14 hours a day)
I love the introduction "the secret is with in each of us" totally agree with it. I also love the idea of sharing with like minded people ideas and support between us. It creates a synergy that expands to amazing proportions.
I am new to trading, I have only done 10 virtual trades and only made money on 1, so translated I lost on 9.
I have taken 1 online course and signed up for a work shop in November, but I am looking for more places to learn, books to read, and buddies for support. So all your suggestions are highly welcome.
I have been wanting to get into the market for 3 years, everybody, I really mean EVERYBODY as told me not to do it and most of them have a horror story to backup their advice for not getting in. It scared me and drew my back for a long time, but it has never left my mine, it keeps crawling and crawling back, I really want to do it.
I find that there are people who do make money, lots of it, and who others crash and burn fast. So I guess that knowledge and experience are definiatly the difference. So finally in July 2,015 I started waking up @ 4:30 am to study and read about the market. I am going to be great @ it no matter what it costs (thank G-d for virtual trading ).
This morning I found you guys and hope this community becomes another solid step on my way there.
