Very cool. Welcome. I trade /YM index futures and seem to be doing ok with my setups thus far. Take a look at my journal you can see some examples and charts that i use to identity opportunities.
I have been doing some research and interest in forex and Binary options . I was unto last few months in a regular job but now have more opportunities to learn from others and to share in this community. I found this site just by chance today. simply amazing. I look forward learning and communicating in this community.
Before last November, I did not even know what a futures contract was or that they even existed. I had just began my engineering management masters program when a friend from school found the ES and became very very attuned to reading that market, and many others at the same time. He obviously got me interested and I had to learn more about it. One of the first resources I was pointed to was Kewltech's blog. He really seems to have some great insight into how to technically trade. I started a free demo account through TDAmeritrade and learned to navigate ThinkOrSwim. Although I don't have much experience with other platforms, it seems to be a fantastic program for charting. It's pretty user friendly. I got to where I was paper trading most mornings before class. Due to not following my trading rules, my account would go back and forth making and losing money, but losing a little more often than making. I wanted to make trading my full time career right out of school, but between getting a great offer at a solid company and getting married right after graduation, I decided to actually go to work using my degrees I had just spent 4 years completing. I still plan to trade for a living sooner than later as I found analyzing data was not quite as glamorous as my company made it out to be. I prefer to be my own boss someday and am very excited to begin paper trading again now that I have my feet under me at my new job and with my recent marriage. It is nice to meet you all and I hope I can add some value to this forum as we all share knowledge.
I have been trading for a little more than a year. Initially I traded options on stocks and quickly learned how much I had to learn. I have made money and I have lost money, now I am more focused on getting consistent.
I traded NQ sim for 7 months and am now trading 1 contract NQ and ES. Still learning and working on getting better.
I trade off of charts, 3 minute and 9 minute and Renko charts to smooth out direction. I've been looking at order flow and wondering if it is a better way to go over the "lagging" indicators I currently use.
