I was wondering if any determination had been made regarding the issue of interfering audio alerts. As it is now, if you have multiple charts and, what's worse, they are on different workspaces, if they issue simultaneous audio alerts, these interrupt each other and make it nearly impossible to locate the source of the signal in a timely way. Thus wiping out any advantage of having the alert in the first place.
At one time, I think, this problem was considered a fundamental problem with Windows. Has any progress been made on this? Would it be possible to set up a buffer where these alerts are collected and played out in sequence?
Thanks for the reply. But, that option is not available for many, in particular my, applications. I am running third party software and the setting of the priority is not possible. They all show up as "High" on the alert window. Even if I could though, there are only three levels of priority and I can have as many as 6 to 9 charts with audio alerts on 3 different Workspaces.
Besides, it is not clear to me whether or not the priority setting has anything to do with the playing of the audio alert. But only serves to be a filter on the Alert Window. Correct me if I am wrong.
You raise a good point though. If it were possible to set the priory for an arbitrary number of audio messages by assigning a unique numerical value to each message based on the computer clock, for example, this would solve the problem.
Hi Raymond, first of all thanks for all your help on this forum!!!
My first question is around if Ninja re-connection is going to improve with NT 8? What I mean, if I loose internet connection all other platforms, TOS, IB, MC re-connects with no issues however Ninja 7 I do have to exit and start again. This is causing loosing T&S info.
I am connecting to Zenfire.
My second question is if T&S update will happen in a workspace which is not the "active" one? My understanding charts are updating currently but not T&S.
If I've repeated the questions and were answered previously than my apologies and if someone can point me to the answers that would be great,
One information I feel lacking in all NT preview webinars so far is regarding NinjaScript changes.
As developer myself I fully understand the reasoning behind not releasing this info sooner, but considering how big the NinjaTrader code ecosystem is, some more info in this area will be appreciated by everyone writing more than few lines of code.
So if I may have a request regarding the upcoming webinar - that would be it.
Thanks
Have you seen all the webinars? I am thinking Ray demonstrated quite a few code breaking changes when he shared some code with us for some built-in indicators, and he explained it in more detail even during several Q&A sessions.
I've seen all of them and the most info came from April's webinar where we were told about introducing OnStateChanged() method and that main changes will only happen to the more advanced programming mostly due to the changes from WinForms to WPF. Hopefully there has been progress in this area (since April) and Raymond will be able to tell us more about these changes - so we could brace ourselves.
As I said before - it is not a complaint but a request.
