One of the most annoying omissions in NT is that trade entries and exits are not visually connected on a chart.
In the "Account Performance" section, add a "Chart" tab and show the trades, listed on the "Trades" tab, with their entries and exits connected with a dashed line. Strategy Analyzer does this.
i was wondering about a drawing tool that is between the the horizontal line(for perfect level) and ray(for clipping). so it would be a horizontal line where we can 'clip' the horizontal(or vertical) where we dont want it to extend it left or right, or up or down for vertical. i can only get perfect flat lines with the horizontal/vertical tools but i dont want them extended only to variable points on both ends.
dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see
Do you mean just a like the regular line tool except it only ever draws a flat line?
- With NT7 and NT8 you can draw a line as level as you can, the edit the anchor points to have the exact same Y value
- With NT8, someone can develop a custom level line tool very easily
I would like for NT8 to have the ability to split orders in the chart trader mode. So if I have a 2 lot target, I am able to split the orders for separate targets without having to cancel my entire OCO order and manually set. This would make my life much easier thanks.
In trading, shortcuts lead to the longest path possible.
sorry man, i cant find it in this thread. i might have had it answered somewhere else. i went through my post quotes but i cant seem to find that either. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Firstly I would like to see the trade executions plotted accurately - e.g an arrow at the price you entered and one at the price you exited, rather than showing the buy arrow at the bottom of the candle and sell arrow at the top even if you bought it high and sold it low. The price labels themselves (e.g. buy xxx sell xxx) are not useful if you are scalping and putting a ton of trades per day as this will get messy and hard to see individual wins and losses, very important for performance evaluation.
Secondly on the chart toolbar at the top, you should have the option to shortcut the drawing tools. For example I like to annotate on my chart iceberg orders and spoofs using chart markets, and I want to spend as little time as possible doing this because I need to focus on market action. I also use a lot of horizontal lines to mark levels on my chart, having this shortcutted would make the process just that little bit easier. Metatrader4 has this function and it is quite convenient.
Edit: It would look something like this, the Xs mark the locations of the tools you want to shortcut.
Understanding yourself is just as important as understanding markets.
