Hello everyone, I am joining the community to broaden my horizons and to learn practices for consistent gains. I am a beginner but I get enjoyment out of anything to further my literacy within the trading community.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hello Traders,
I decided I wanted to automate my trading due to lost opportunities, failed profit taking, and market running away when I should have been in the trade. I am determined to learn Easy Language and new to TradeStation. I have been on the TOS platform for about 6 years. I wish I would have begun this journey sooner. I live in North Florida .
I am looking forward to learning new skills. I currently use a combination of fibs, price crossing moving averages, and oscillators on multiple time frames as my primary strategy. If anyone can point me in the right direction, will be much appreciated.
Thanks for creating this forum for beginners like me and everyone else. I am sure I will find some useful info here, as I need all the help I can get for sure!
I began trading Forex in 2001 or there about, and in the spring of 2016 I began my journey learning how to trade Futures.
I actually like trading Futures better than Forex. I really just kind of dabbled in trading over the years as I am just not a natural at the whole thing. I always seem to just break even. Booooo. So, here I am and I thank you once again for allowing me the opportunity to learn from others.
I am from Charleston, SC. I am currently in Houston, TX. I have wanted to get into Trading for years. I am now stepping out. I appreciate your story, Big Mike. I am sure there are a lot of others who share this sentiment. I appreciate all of you who share and partake of your and others' knowledge. I look forward to learning more from all of you.
Hi all, I'm a very beginner at trading and look forward to learning from all of you. I was introduced to futures trading by a mentor but I believe there is a lot more to learn before I trade real money. Still in sim until I can learn to trade with discipline and a plan.
I have been trading forex, equities and indicies for 4 years. Confident with my trading strategies just not with retail brokers. Trying to move from OTC brokers to futures brokers. I have got a demo account up and running on Sierra Charts and have a broker called Optimus (which have not answered any questions I have had so I will be moving elsewhere) and a data feed through CTS T4. It seems a lot more confusing than a retail brokerage as you have a lot of different fees you have to pay to different companies.
From what I can see I need to fund
- Sierra Charting software for a monthly subscription.
- A data feed, either through sierra charts or an external feed.
- Then you will have your brokerage commission and fees which is also through someone else.
- Then possibly a clearing house (unsure about this as it's not part of OTC brokers), also through someone else.
So all up you could have 4 different monthly subscriptions to pay just to be able to get a live account up and running.
Out of all this I'm still unsure how I go about funding these aspects.
Thank you for the mention Japhro, we do carry the CTS solution, and this link has been mentioned on other threads, so here it's again:
I would like to add a few things to your post:
Yes, the solution is rather cheap for execution, so we transferred …
I don't use Optimus but I have spoken with @mattz a few times and found him to be very responsive and helpful. The current weather situation in Florida may be affecting his communications (just guessing).
Thank you for your support. Yes, due to the current situation in FL, we had slight delays, but we are running as usual as we have redundancies for phone, emails. etc. So no material change for us, except that we may be working from a remote location.
I truly try to answer all questions, but once in a while, I rely on some patience because we get many emails and account inquiries. At times, when the customer has many new questions, I even request their number to walk them through the process.
Again, thank your kind words! WE do need that once in a while.
Kind regards,
Matt Z
