1) Yes, you can pay for it via SC, or in some instances via the trading account.
2) For trading, you would need an external data for execution (CTS, RIthmic, CQG). You may need historical carts from SC via their feed, or not. SC data is a not a must.
3) The FCM of your choice is the one deducting the commissions.
I hope this helps.

Happy to go through Optimus. If you could help me set up my live account that would be awesome.
First step I heard I get SC for free or discounted if I trade enough round trips in a month, do you know if this is true and if so can I do this through Optimus?
Second step I have read that CTS maybe the right fit for me, do I go through CTS, SC or Optimus to organise this?
Thirds step I know nothing about clearing houses is this something Optimus organise or can you point me in the right direction.
Thank you for your assistance and I can see that you are very active and helpful on this thread.
Also what roll does the broker play then if - CTS is the external data feed (unsure what an internal data feed would be then) - SC is the charting software - and lets say AMP is the FCM.
Also if I was to go through AMP do I start up an account and fund it directly with them or through Optimus?
Can't see the reason for the broker or where their cut is in all of this.
The data feed is a technology provider, but they are not licensed brokers and they are not authorized to hold your funds.
We are an independent IB. We introduce business to FCMs, and this is our business model.
I do my best to attempt to help traders to match their needs while FCMs provide us with wholesale costs so remain to be competitive. We publish our prices right on our site, so you are more than welcome to shop around and figure out your total cost.
Thank you,

You are welcome. I suggest getting a demo going first. On our platforms pages, there is a specific CTS/Sierra combo.
If you like the speed and/or execution then we can assist with an account.
Sierra has many connections: CQG, RIthmic, and CTS via Optimus. As a beginner, I am not sure of your frequency, so for starters, any one of them can do. Don't overwhelm your self initially with many decisions. It takes a while to learn a platform and the connection you need due to your location and internet speed. feel free to reach out to me directly via my email. Some of your questions should not be on this thread. I will PM you my email.
Thank you,
Matt Z

Greetings. I learned the importance of saving and investing from a grumpy old farmer born at the turn of the last century. I tested the trading waters back in 2006 with "penny stocks". I ended up with just a few pennies more than I started with. Saved a few dollars since then and soon it will be time to test my skills against the S&P E-mini traders.
Complete Newbie here! Just trying to stalk the forums and learn the terminology. At a total lose as to where to start so I'll just be doing a lot of reading, researching, clicking on links and getting lost down rabbit trails until I have some sort of idea what everyone is talking about. Glad to have found the forum and looking forward to what I will learn!
