Future Path Trading has it's own Broker thread, so the introduction to FPT posted here by @LindaR really belongs in that thread, if for no other reason that her single posting will be quickly buried by new postings in this thread. Notice the follow on questions being posted here about Future Path Trading are going unanswered in this thread, whereas those questions might be answered in the FPT broker thread. A month from now, no one interested in researching FPT is going to dig through 100 pages of postings in this thread to find a tid-bit of information about FPT, that person will go directly to the FPT thread itself. So diverting this thread into a Q/A thread on details about the services provided by FPT is not appropriate. For example, much earlier in this thread detailed questions about Optimus Trading Group were being directed out of this thread and to the Optimus Futures broker thread in order to keep this thread on topic. I would suggest that policy be followed in this case as well.
Just wonder if somebody is considering moving to Dorman/Rithmic.
Regarding to Dorman- Rithmic will be up and running at Dorman by Monday. Seems to be an interesting option, certainly for the Mirus /Dorman clients...
Will wait for the weekend anyway.
Hi Linda, Nice to see ya here. Damon offered me an account when I was speaking with him after that great presentation from you both, in Feb. 2013 at NY Traders Expo. It would have been better to have a second account, like everyone tells me, but when I mentioned I was with Mirus he said he knew them and they were good guys.
On a lighter note, too bad he didn't say, "...oh, THOSE guys?" (lol) Then maybe I'd have gotten a second account, like everyone advises is such a good idea...
Hope to see you guys again in NY in Feb. I would tell everyone here to attend, but that room was packed, sro!
Damon taught us about 'spoos,' and 'cars,' as well as history of the pits, really cool insights, and you bring some great energy in your presentations.
I do realize how frustrating and confusing Zen-Fire/Mirus issue has been for you. A few things...
First, I am going to try and create a webinar later today to provide our clients at Mirus/Zen-Fire with an account of the situation and options for continued use of NinjaTrader
Second, and this is an important one... We are going to update the Continuum adapter to remove the requirement of Kinetick. What this means is that Continuum will provide both market data services and order routing services. Continuum is a division of CQG and the technology is solid and has been in use for many years by thousands of clients.
This new update (R20) It will be available at ALL FCM's that offer Continuum (which is a lot) excluding Dorman. Dorman will have access to R19 and earlier which requires Kinetick. Why is that you ask? Not my decision, a lot of behind the scenes deals being made.
For RCG users being asked to switch to Dorman, you will not have to change if you wish to continue using NinjaTrader with a solid solution.
I've had an account with Mirus and Interactive Brokers for years. Just closed my account at Mirus last week and am moving to Stage 5. (Not thrilled to be clearing through Vision Financial Markets, but I like the community and ethos that Stage 5 has created.) I traded only equities and ETFs through IB, but have traded futures through them since Mirus crapped out. I had to connect a third part feed, however, because I use a different model for futures that requires an unaggregated feed. Big Mike recommended DTN IQFeed and I have to say that I am impressed so far. Ninja handles it well -- IQFeed doesn't seem to lag as much as Zen-Fire did during fast markets. The execution on the IB platform is flawless and the transaction costs are low. My $0.02.
Good luck. The fact that Mirus didn't have a backup plan really surprised me -- strong indication there is more pain to come. The interim solution offered doesn't sound very appealing. I'm a little embarrassed for the employees there.
I will be conducting a webinar today at 1PM EST to discuss your options for continued NinjaTrader use. To attend, please click this link http://www.webinato.com.
I will also be fielding any questions you have on this entire situation.
