+1 for the Ninjatrader support. They are usually pretty quick to respond especially on the NT forums.
Also I just really enjoy being able to code custom indicators and stuff in C# .net . All my trades are discretionary but being able to program your computer to do most of the heavy lifting is great.
Look in the Indicator folder using Windows Explorer and see if the cs files of your custom indicators are still there. If they are, try recompiling any indicator and restarting ninjatrader to make the custom indicators reappear.
Reinstallng Ninjatrader does NOT remove custom indicators. Only the built in indicators are overwritten, in those rare infrequent cases where they may have been updated by Ninjatrader.
NT 7 has its share of bugs, but I think you're letting your emotions take over. I have been using the platform very successfully for years and I absolutely love it. Although I have started playing around with other platforms such as IQBroker and MultiCharts I think I'll stick with NT for now.
As far as my emotinal state, I am having some problems setting up a new audio system in my trading room. But maybe I should explain that I use 2 Lenovo workstations. One for TS that I use Kase StatWare on for making trades and the other for NT because I liked there trading DOM. Now I thought it was a shame to have a 24" monitor with just a DOM on it so I put some charts on it because there are more indicators on futures.io (formerly BMT) for NT than TS and I wanted to try some.
I think futures.io (formerly BMT) is the best and a contribution should be made every year.
I deeply apologize, soveral. I make it a point to answer all emails by day's end even on weekends. Could you enlighten me as to when you sent the email and to what email address? It's against futures.io (formerly BMT) policy for me to post my email here but perhaps we can see if an incorrect address is the problem. Otherwise, you might resend the email. You can get my email address from other sources here at futures.io (formerly BMT). I am always glad to respond.
For what it's worth here's one that caused me a little hair tearing & gnashing of teeth recently, although not NT's fault.
On one of the computers I use mostly for development NT suddenly was unable to calculate profits and losses correctly in the Account Performance summary both during live trading (paper account with the broker) and backtesting. Values in most columns under the Trades tab were totally meaningless. Backtesting reported every trade as a loser, including obviously profitable trades, colouring all lines connecting entries with exits red in the Strat Analyzer chart window.
In the meantime NT (same version, same everything I thought) on the main trading computer worked fine.
After much head scratching & many attempted fixes (not least database repair, reset and re-installing NT) it occurred to me I'd changed the Point Value setting for a number of currency definitions in Instrument Manager (from 100000 to 1) while debugging a strategy and forgot to reset it, and that turned out to be the cause.
Or at least updating the currency definitions coincided with the problem going away :-/
