Hi, everybody.
My introduction going to be short as story seems quite typical. My buddy introduced me to futures several years ago, it was fascinating, adrenalin-pumping experience. I made several grand in a month and a couple of months later blew my account. Having been very stubborn I dove into it again a year later, lost more money than I dare to admit and finally got sober. Read several books on tech analysis, a lot of staff on the net, signed in to DTA. Speaking of which: in my opinion it’s very little more than enterprise for transferring money from your account to theirs. While reading bunch of negative reviews in aftermath of my own sad experience I stumbled upon reference to Futures.io where it was rated very high. And here I am. Trading sim for quite a while. Still consistently in red but still hoping as things seem slowly are getting better. I hope to expedite the process learning here from guys who smarter than me. On my part I so far can share with everybody a couple of things what not to do.
-Never start live trading without preceding sim trading that consistently put you in green in the long enough run.
-Even after that start very carefully with just one position: live trading is completely different ball game as it involves a lot of emotions as it’s your money on the table and emotions never make you think better.
I'm currently new and just want to say what a great community this is wish I found this place sooner.
Just a quick update on my personal journey on the last 6 months which has been on learning Technical Analysis, Risk management, Economy and Brokers which I have been really enjoying even though I have not made or lost any real money as I've been on a demo account testing indicators and price action strategies.
I've been dabbling in Forex paper trading for the past year. This is my commitment to being a more consistent, involved trader. I currently work full time so I'll be swing trading to start.
I look forward to combing through the resources here and on sites that people have suggested.
I've seen the replies people have posted to "calling out for mentors" threads, and am motivated to follow the wisdom already shared to those people: become a self-made trader who is active in this community . At the same time I know that I learn best with guidance, so if this post catches the eye of someone who has the time and energy to mentor someone like me, I would not be opposed!
Hi Mike and Group,
I really don't know how I found this group, but I am feeling mighty lucky in doing so. I have tried to make a go at trading and really find myself lost in the maze of too much information. This thread seems like it will help make sense of it all.
Thank You all,
Greg
Greetings to All and thanks to Big Mike for the welcome. As there was an empty "Title" box I put a heading there, albeit a negative one which sums up neatly why I am here and probably speaks for many others also. I have no idea what futures are ! just show me a wiggly price chart and I will do my best to trade it, whether it's the future or the past who cares ? We all just need dollaros so let's get on with the job ( he he....tongue so far in the cheek now that I might swallow it and choke....hopefully not to death)
Anyway today here in Australia is Sunday, Funday - My current trade platform has the Crypto-currencies of which I mainly watch just plain old Bitcoin which is just lazing around so far. I opened a "Sell" trade earlier right on the price spike at a P/L of -$44.00 which I complained about in the platform chat box, and slowly the price came down and I exit with $18 profit - so from -$44 +18 = $62 overall the Casino wins again
So there's my Introduction to the forum, sir - a bit grumpy I guess but that's life - Cheers
Look up Ziad Masri in Search....Ziad lives the trader life in Dubai and just yesterday I watched his webinar for 2 solid hours, so contact his team, I'm sure that you will not be disappointed - Cheers
New to trading futures, not new to trading. I have 11 years of Forex experience and trade Forex for my primary source of income. Looking forward to moving into the world of Futures. Live account is open and funded will start trading it on the 5th.
Looking forward to making new friends and building my skills as a Futures trader.
