If you would be willing to help, I could probably fix it...but I would need screenshots of the errors ...and you would have to be willing to do some testing.
Thanks for your reply. I have now managed to get the importer to work- it was a case of the Locale setting, but also the date, time or number format.
In case anyone else encounters the same problem I found that they need to be
Control Panel > Region & language > Change location = United States
Control Panel > Date, time, or number format = English (United States)
with those settings and a restart of the computer the issue goes away.
Unfortunately I have now encountered a different set of errors from the Spreadsheet when I use it (and I am using Excel 2007), which I am trying to work through.
You mentioned that you do not use the uploader- do you upload all the data manually yourself or is there another method?
I have been working with the latest Journal4.3 and I think that I have found a very small bug- I have managed to recreate it by doing the following:
Open a brand new Journal direct from the Journal 4.3
Open the Journal Tab and change the time on the 2 existing trade examples to 0600 and 0800
Go to Overview tab
You will now see a 'phantom' profit in the Hourly Profit chart on in the 7 column.
Unfortunately my excel skills have not allowed me to fix this. What will happen though is tha this 'phantom' trade/profit will continue to affect your stats going forward so that your 7 hour stats never look right.
Oddly, when I recreate it this way there is a profit in the 7 column but in my own Journal there is a loss.
Still, I don't rule out user error on my part so please let me know.
I have managed to spend some time on the uploader and the errors that I encounter are persistent and reproduceable.
Use the uploader on with an NT7 .csv exported file & add it to an existing one.
On opening the new saved file the error encountered is 'Excel found unreadable content in 'test1.xlsm'. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes'
On clicking yes
'Run-time error '1004''
Cannot use this functionality on a protected worksheet'
On clicking 'End' - Excel crashes
On clicking 'Debug'- Debugger opens and you can exit out without Excel crashing
The following error is in the Attachment.
I have reproduced this more than 3 times and it is consistent.
Hope this helps.
It looks like the importer is incompatible with this version of the journal...
Maybe @petrmac can shed some light, I can't really help with that, sorry. If you depend on the importer, I'd suggest an older version that is known to be compatible with the importer, then once the importer has been updated, just migrate to the new version.
First of all a big danke schön for this excellent work I have been using this now for a couple of days and the information I can extract from it is fantastic.
