I am very green to trading, and looking for a good futures and comdities brokerage firm. I am trying firetip as DiscountTrading is after my acount. I have been demo trading with both Tradeview and Firetip, however I am suspicious due to the fact of my overall success in the demo accounts. Greatly appreciate any suggestions for the nuby!

I have been trading options and FX for 3yrs now and LOVE them both. My goal is to start trading futures contracts to evade the pattern day trading rule in options. In volatile periods of the /NQ there are a lot of moves up AND down during the course of a trading day and I want to be in on every one of them.
Howdy, howdy. Introducing myself... I am back to day trading after being out of it for 15 years.
Back in the day I played market maker for the spread on low priced NYSE and AMEX stocks and did very well until decimalization happened. Also did well shorting in the early 2000's.
Now gearing up to learn to trade the NQ. Been sim trading for awhile. Tonight was the first night I decided to take a live trade... just to go through sending out a live order.... and it got crazy...
So, first trade:
9:11:34pm I short one contract (just starting out) at 6872. Bought back chickened out at 6871.at 9:14:04. Look what happens at 9:16 LOL... see attached chart.. I could have made 20-24 points on my first trade - it never got to my stop loss... my chickening out was not concern about it going against me or approaching my stop loss.. it was about I wanted my very first trade in years to be positive... so I took the one point gain and missed the 20 haha.
Then another small winner, some losers to -$110 on the day, then back to +$20.
And switching to some sim trading in there too.
Then back in a live trade, I'm short... and...
the power goes out. I am completely in the dark! The power never goes out here!
But the power is effing out.
Power out. *&%$#$%' totally my house is dark...
Ran to work to get on there (about 4 minutes away.. which was stupid I should have just called my broker's emergency number.... Things totally down there too. The UPS unit is useless, not powering my computer there.
Drove back home, called in the emergency number, they got me flat.
.... whew... and...
so I ask... well... is it a big loser?
he says well it looks like you are up $150.
whew.
(-:
Never had the power go out on me the 3-4 years I made a living trading long ago... then it goes out first night back.
Thank you for all the knowledge that I can use to improve myself in future,
I've been in markets for some time now, in and out for 3 years and finally decided to sit down and learn.
Still haven't blown my account and hope that I wont.

as the notification points me out, I'm here for 19 days, reading lots of good stuff, and finally introducing myself.
Been trying to understand the markets for 3 years now, I'm from Brazil, so trading futures at the "B3" brazilian market, never get the consistency, 1 month up, 3 down, always trading before get to work (I'm a programmer ).
Now the things have changed, I've move to Canada for a year now, trying to be a full time trader, studying the futures like ES and CL, but most recently N* (NZ, NB, NF), I'm not a chart guy, never felt comfortably with them, so I'm trying to trade with the DOM.
