- if it is through Optimus - they would get historical bid ask tick data + realtime accurate data
- if it is through others - no historical bid ask tick data - only realtime accurate bid ask data
Then it should specify where that "accurate historical bid ask data" comes from in case of Optimus (special arrangement with SC own data servers?). Because that message reads like you get a better Rithmic data through Optimus compared to others, but Rithmic gives you the same data whether you are with Optimus or any other broker. (And Rithmic doesn't provide any tick backfill)
Sad to see all of the ZF issues..I liked Zen and even used it for a few months before the fees with AMP for Zen went up. Hope Mirus survives, though.. competition is always better for us traders. BTW, about the AMP clearing $1,00 cost -- I posted a reply in the corresponding AMP Global Clearing thread.. this hopefully clears up some if not all confusion.
P.S. Anyone think Zen-Fire will survive this fiasco?
P.P.S. Optimus Futures -- I like your firm and am thinking about giving you a try soon. Do you have any info on the CME fees: if I open with you before March 1 will I avoid the fees until 2015? Or do I have to fund? Or it's OK that I have an account at AMP and then will automatically be exempt for all US futures brokers through 2015, even if I switch on a whim (though I don't plan to, i.e if I open at Optimus, I plan to fund from my checking account).
Hard to see how they will go on. My view is when any front line provider (data feed or broker) take a hit like this the people will run a mile. As youve heard before.... it takes years and years to build up a rep and only a very short time to wreck it. Its a shame this happened and a part of me feels sorry for the dudes in the broker house but with todays tech there should have been a rake of redundancy humming away on standby and ready to swing into action when this happens. Also its not like they couldnt afford to have such redundancy so thems the breaks buddy. Its an almighty mess for ALL involved and thats that so lets all move on and get back to trying to make a few quid.

I didn't trade over Christmas and didn't mind missing out the first part of January, but I was being naïf and just assumed Mirus and Zenfire would get it worked out. But now it doesn't seem like that's the case.
Mirus now has an alternative provider with Dorman. Unfortunately I'm with RCG. I'm wondering if I should convert to Dorman or if I should go to a new broker. What is the best option right now? I've always liked zenfire data. I did extensive comparisons with iqfeed and the bid/ask was nearly identical. My concern about other datafeeds is that the bid/ask might not be as accurate and that's important for my tools.
