Hello Mike and all, relatively new trader to futures. Always looking for an edge in scalping. I've tried live trading chat sites and it not for me and I am forced into Labor to make ends meet' I stumbled across this site by looking for a squeeze indicator for Ninja-trader. The reason I joined is why pay a vendor when I could pay to support a community like this and get other indicator and more education. Like most traders I've blown up a account a few time before . Im realizing to stay out of volatile markets and trades technical setups as I've originally planned. The best Indicator for near future price for me is price action. I've learned to just sit back and watch the price action unfold and listen to the story as it unfolds. Then enter when I see a high possibility. That is me know and am looking to venture on and hoping to make some friends along the way. Happy Trading All. Ben
Hi everyone,
I am new to the community. I trade futures an stocks. So I started trading like a year ago. I was so excited in the beginning. Just like a lot of beginners, I spent a lot of money for my education (Some for trading courses, but most are from losses) . I was in sim for only 2 weeks and rushed into the market. I was able to make a couple hundreds bucks within minutes for the first days. That was a trap for beginners like me. Then came one day, one trade ,one nightmare. I traded Beyond Meat. This thing was going down and I kept adding to it. Then I wondered why it didnt go back like it did. I thought i was Warran Buffet or something and someone in the chatroom said this thing could go to 0. I was scared and decided to cut my loss quick. Huge lesson learned on one trade. Then every week, I spent a couple hundreds bucks here and there. Until one point, I was just scared to even click the buttons and went back to sim. But I dint not want to give up. I just sat and watch the charts for a couple hours a day. Watch a lot of youtube videos. I spent all my free time studying. Then I find out about other trading tools suck as volume profile, order flow. I decided to try Bookmap and it helped my trading alot. This month, I decided to go live again. I am still not very comfortable but I gotta get started again. I trade with very small size, and things are going pretty good.
Do we have a futures trading room here or does anyone know any good chat room out there that you recommend?
Curious how your Bookmap order flow trading goes. Keep us posted. Don't know of any futures chat room but FT71 is a member here and runs Convergent Trading, here's a link:
I'm a trader just like the rest, have made and have lost money trading. No breaking news there but one thing I have stumbled upon throughout this journey is this book. The New Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. Have a read worst-case scenario you exercise your brain.
Hello! I learned about trading in 2017, and it started with crypto fever. This was a mining, then arbitrage and ICO (IEO). I was able to earn money on this, which was enough for three years of life, without another job. Thanks to this, I was able to trade daily for two years. But all time, starting in september 2018 i was trading futures on demo account. I watched three video course about trading and one of them was shit. I also developed my own scripts and entry points. The first year of trading was completely not systemic and impulsive. Sitting at the terminal , i just forgot about everything that I learned from video. Later I realized that I needed to trade less and study transactions after trading. I traded various futures from oil to soybeans and now settled on the 6E. My trading style is intraday. If I understand where a major player is gaining a position and where he will fold it, then I try to catch this daily movement. If I do not understand the global scenario, then I trade short deals with a risk / profit ratio of 1/3. At the moment I am trading periods of earnings and periods of loss. I have not come to stable earnings yet. My main losses are due to psychological problems. Three months ago, i began to meditate. I recently read B. Steenbarger's books and began to monitor my condition through a cognitive journal. I think this gives a positive result. I also record on video when i trade, so that I can analyze it later.
Hi everyone, I'm a simple trader. Having secured the necessary time and starting with a small account I try to have specific real results each time. I have passed through all the basic stages as a trader, such as the initial excitement, the illusion and the downfall of expectations assessing various instruments I ended up to derivatives as the most fair, logical and realistic to my financial plans.
Thank you Mike for creating this great resource. I am intermediately educated. I have taken many courses and been in different trading rooms. As far as consistent results I am a beginner and steadily improving. I have traded options mostly selling, creating credit spreads. I am trading micros on NT8 now, and once in a while the emini. Back to trading after a while my emotions glare at me with new awareness and am seeing through them to the rules that I have written down for myself. My dog Leo looks better than the photos of myself that I can find for now. In general he is more handsome so I start with him here. 20190123_142900
