I feel your pain... but let me put this in perspective that everyone can relate to...
You use NT and IB together to be able to trade for a living .....a fantasy most men only dream about..
It's like hiring two not very attractive hookers that aren't really into each other, for a threesome... it will get the job done... it won't be pretty ... the later at night you do it .... the worse it gets ... spending more on better looking hookers won't guarantee a better result .... and it won't be an experience you will brag about in Penthouse forum... BUT ... it does allow you to do what few can...
I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.
My daddy always said, "Every day above ground is a good day!"
Will give it some thought Mike. I was used to IB for stock trading via TWS--discovering Forex via a 3rd party platform is a whole different kettle of fish.
The problem is that Ninjatrader has a pathetic choice of brokers for forex. You can go with Multicharts for greater choice but .... ugh.. Easylanguage...yuck.. Multicharts is coming out with .net version which will allow coding in C# and that's when I can jump ship from Ninjatrader for good.
For now least of the evils is NT with MBTrading.
PS: What is really weird is that in 3 years Ninjatrader has not added a single supported broker for the forex traders. And now they are beta testing FXCM support. Really FXCM? FXCM is for traders with $500 accounts who think not paying commissions is the best f**king deal ever. Any serious forex trader would laugh at the FXCM spreads. People who use FXCM are happy with the free Metatrader and they sure aren't going to pay for Ninjatrader. Truly ludicrous choice of broker to use what precious little development effort is spent on expanding the product.
What does the NT dev team do all day? Play video games? Browse gonewild videos? Click 'dislike' on Multicharts and Sierra Charts facebook pages and run away giggling like little girls?
Even as NT supporter, I think that's funny, and probably has a measure of truth to it
I think NT either has gotten to big to be agile and responsive, or just has a management/development structure that is inefficient, when compared to products like Investor/RT which seem to pump out features and fixes like lightning with only one developer I believe.
