I like very much trading with level 2 data in the dom, but can't look always for hours on the screen. Is there a possibility or does a tool/indicator exist, so that a sound alert is initiated if e.g. the level 2 contract size amounts to 300 (or other values which can be selected by the trader)
If I understand correctly, you might want to look at jtRealStats as a starting point for you, it has all the code you need to read depth at each level, then you can create a sound alert.
this one is from zondor. it has been posted in this thread. and it does show the arrows. I'm no expert, but I believe the arrows don't show all the time and sometimes it's a scaling issue.

Hi Mike,
thank you for your quick response. I already use jtRealStats and what I need is a sound allert, that works if the bid or ask shown in the dom exceeds, for example, 300 contracts (I don't mean the number of traded contracts).
Does such a solution exist or can anybody provide this to me?
By the way: Excellent homepage which ist already $50 worth, so you convinced me to become an elite member.

Thank you LostTrader,
That is about what I'm looking for. It runs well and I defined a threshold of "150" for the E6. Despite the fact, that the 150 was serveral times shown in the dome (as bid/ask contract number five rows over and below the curent price), the alarm was not initiated immediately. I hear the alarm sometimes but can not identfy why it occurs. Do you have an idea or can you help?
Part of the problem may be that I don't use NT's DOM -- I use Chart trader and took a guess that you wanted a check against the bid ask numbers that Chart Trader displays. Which so to speak, corresponds the the immediate bid/ask next to last price on the chart.
Show me a picture of what you mean & maybe I can determine the difference.

Please find enclosed the picture of the Dom.
As you can see, the highest contract number is 168 (buy column). So if the threshold is defined at 150 in the domalert indicator, domalert should initiate a sound alert, as long as at least one contract number exceeds 150. Can you help?
OK, you want an alert on any vol in the row exceeding the threshold.
Here you go. One caveat -- you must set the Maximum # of Levels to 5 if you only want to check 5 rows.
Otherwise the indicator will display & check as many as it can. Play with it on a chart & you will see what I mean.
Well, for me, it was this morning.
And as I said, the code is a derivative of jtrealstats - he wrote the original, and I just made some mods to suit me. I just added your alert to the smaller version. He wrote some nice stuff, I just can't get to his blog anymore (johnthom.com)
