I have a set of trading rules that I have manually traded and would now like to automate. The rules are very simple and clearly describe the setup conditions, entry rules , initial stop, and profit targets. Just a couple of basic indicators are used that are already included in all platforms .
My thinking is to attach the code to all the markets of interest and have it notify (email, text message...) when all the conditions are meet. Maybe also place the trade and manage it per the rules to completion.
I think this project should be very quick to implement taking just a few hours to program.
Platform of choice is MultiCharts - I would also be open to this being done in Ninjatrader. I will post this to that forum if i get no response here.
PM me if interested.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Been working for 10 years in this sector (software) and everytime somebody says "few hours" is that in fact is hard to code but the client don't want to recognize it. Eventually the programmer ends doing lots of hours, the client don't wants to pay for those, and the result is a worst product made by a good programmer that don't see recognition for his job.
How many hours are few hours? You can send an email, but may want to add the parameter to change it. You can send text on it, but you may want to add information about indicators and things like that.. You can have stops and targets but maybe you want to trail it, and so on... Those little things make it harder and add hours to the "simple" project.
Just my experience, I hope you are very clear in your PMs. Sorry if I'm a too honest guy, I just want to be sure that you get the programmer you want.
