hi all

NT sended out this message today.
i thought about what it means exactly... does it mean Zen-Fire stopps Connectivity to NT 6.5 so that NT 6.5 isnt working with zenfire anymore ?

also it would be interesting arround what time this event will start because US has different timezones and it will bew helpful for users arround the world to get som,e more specific informations when its time to be more careful because of this switch - one never knows what may happen.

Zen-Fire Connection

Zen-Fire has informed us that on Wednesday June 29th, 2011 they will be retiring the connection points used in NinjaTrader 6.5.
We don’t expect this change to impact NinjaTrader 7 users however, in the event that on or after this date you are unable to connect using NinjaTrader 7, please take the following action to try and remedy your situation.

Start NinjaTrader 7
Go to the menu Tools > Account Connections
Remove your Zen-Fire connection
Re-create your Zen-Fire connection
Try and connect

Please let us know should you have any questions.

Regards,
NinjaTrader Customer Service

It looks that way yes. Perhaps got something to do with the upcoming new Zen-fire API.

Why would the time be needed? Just update to NT 7.0 as soon as you have time for this. Though I agree it is a rather short notice, giving in effect just one day to update and switch. Not very professional.

I figured NT 6.5 was a dying platform when they announced the CME change. Ninja said they would continue to make available but handwriting was on the wall. I went ahead and had all my strategies updated to NT7 a few months back but glad I did as it is more stable than NT6.5

I am a little surprised by the zenfire cutoff as that pretty much really kills NT6.5 for many people. Talk about short notice.

In some conversations I had with Zenfire staff I got the impression that they are moving away from retail clients.

Expect more sudden moves.

Interesting if they went that route. I used zenfire at one time but now use rithmic.
