Does anyone have any experience with any trading competitions? I have looked at several websites, but just curious if there is one known as sort of the "super bowl" of trading?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
This is the one where people have made history. This is the only long-running trading competition that I know of.
World Cup Championship of Futures Trading from the Robbins Trading Company. Which I think is now run by PFG Best? The part about who moderates this contest needs clarification.
I just want to throw out there, I am working with a broker now to create a futures.io (formerly BMT) trading competition. This has been a few months in the planning, and the broker is implementing a few things I asked for and hopefully it will all work out.
But the plan is:
- Open to futures.io (formerly BMT) members, free
- 1st of month: everyone starts with 25k
- Max drawdown allowed: $2,500, exceed it and be disqualified
- Will be able to run daily/weekly reports, show who is in the lead etc
- Use your favorite platform
- Prize to the winner
I'll post more once it is actually all working, but I look forward to making this a recurring contest.
You don't need to switch brokers. There will be a "one click" process on futures.io (formerly BMT) for you to receive credentials from this new broker which are necessary to track the competition trades, which you plug in to your platform like a normal account. But it's a paper/sim account. So depending on your platform, you can trade multiple broker accounts simultaneously, etc.
interesting, I would be curious to know more as you firm the details... but, if it is demo... then anything in there wont be as realistic... why not just work with a broker instead to have real accounts and those that want to compete for a pool/prize can then trade real money? (their money)...the broker benefits from the influx of business, and the traders benefit from the possibility of the prize... to make it fair to everyone that will risk their own money, during the competition the broker can provide with exchange member level pricing (or close enough to it)... to me that is better than competing with funny money and fills that wont be all that realistic (specially when you are allowing somone to have their platform of choice.)
just my thoughts... and I assume you are working with Velocity... they are the only ones, IMO, with the technology to do what you are saying... I doubt VFM would ever show up around here to facilitate that... then again, it might be AMP.. but they are only focusing on CQG accounts lately... anyhow, just wondering who it is... I guess we will all find out eventually.
