I'm personally waiting for the Asus Transformer 2, which is due in a couple weeks. It is based on Kal-El, 10", will have Ice Cream Sandwich, and is something like 8.9mm thick (about 0.1mm thinner than my Droid X phone).
My target is Windows-only (which what Acer W500 is), for I want to run Ninja, Visual Studio, Office, Etc. Professional use. Outside of mobile phones area, I simply do not see what's all this fuss about Apple and Android. If you check Amazon reviews for Acer W500, you'll find many owners of both W500 and iPad 1/2, who now consider their iPad a toy when compared to W500.
P.S. W500 also comes with detachable keyboard that converts it into a laptop - so you get both tablet and laptop in one product.
Yeah the Transformer has the detachable keyboard as well.
Gotcha on Windows. No interest to me, I am only using a tablet for email, web, IM, news, forum, and to monitor my trades. I don't want or need Windows for any of that
It has good reviews. Will be over six months old on Black Friday, so I would say substantial reason to way for Black Friday and catch one on a fire sale. Do research on when the new model is scheduled to ship to make sure you aren't buying at the worst time.
Yep, I was thinking the same thing - checking for new products or waiting for W500 discounts during Holidays. If anyone has any news from Acer, feel free to chime in. Thanks.
