If you watched the CME's president Terrence Duffy testimony today before congress, I think they paint a very clear picture of events --- much more clear than anything else I have seen so far --- and have squarely laid the blame on MF Global as basically cooking the books.
I couldn't find the clip from today's testimony, but here is something.
