Looking for charting software.

A pretty general question, but I'm wondering if any one has a suggestion.

I'm a Canadian trader, I like to trade Canadian gold and silver mining stocks.

I track XAUUSDO.COMP using my IQFeed and MarketDelta charts. Before this I was using free charts to track spot gold and silver. My platform is called Nexa. I actually like it. Simple. Direct. I have stockcharts which I use all the time as well, but they don't have a live feed for spot gold, only EOD.

Anyways, to make long story short, the MarketDelta is quite expensive. All I use it for is the display for the live feed from XAUUSDO.COMP and XAGUSDO.COMP. The feed plus MarketDelta is $275 a month.

I was wondering if there were any free charts that could plug into my feed. Something a bit configurable. I don't require any backtesting capabilities or anything at all really. Just the ability to read the feed and chart a graph.

Anybody know of anything like that?

Thanks for any help.

Whew!! Silver came on strong today on a Friday.

Investor/RT... Aside from not having Footprint charts, it's identical to MarketDelta.

Another possibility is Sierra Chart or NinjaTrader. Sierra has built-in volume analysis tools, Ninja does not but can be made to work with third party tools.

Thanks for the replies, but don't these products cost just like MarketDelta does?

I think Investor/RT is like $50 or $60 a month.

Sierra Chart is free with some brokers like Velocity Futures, or maybe $20-30 a month.

NinjaTrader is free with some brokers like Mirus Futures, or maybe $60 a month.

No, Investor/RT is much cheaper. It is the same platform, but they've chosen to sell the Footprint charts through MarketDelta.

Investor/RT - Pricing Summary

Sierra Chart is also pretty good, but I prefer I/RT/MarketDelta for charting .

But to use broker I would need to open an account. I wasn't too interested in that at this time. Sierra charts. I've heard of that name. I'll Google that. And the Investor/RT is cheaper for sure. I'll look at that too.

Thanks.

I kind of liked the MarketDelta charts myself. They are crisp and clear.

So Investor/RT has the same good looking charts then?

They are sister companies (or at least have some kind of agreement); it's the exact same platform. Aside from the Footprint charts, as I mentioned earlier.
