I am an intermediate C# developer in need of some help on accessing some of the more "hidden" elements of NinjaTrader. I have a lot of experience developing indicators and have been able to dig somewhat deep to get what I want, but I am stumped on some issues and would like to "hire" someone to do a screen session and answer my questions and offer insight. Please email me, or respond to this post if you can help me out.
Thanks.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Yes, issues like that, and optimizing issues, etc. I can show you what I've done, and the issues I've come across and maybe you can "clear the air" for me, give me that "ah-ha!" moment.
If you post specific questions, we might be able to help you. May be difficult to point out all the Hidden elements. I learned by finding the answer in some of the code on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT). Folks like @gomi and @Fat Tails have mastered some of the aspects of Indicator. I think @TimeTrade has a solid understanding of the "Types".
But if you have questions, we can point you in the right direction.
@NJAMC, ok, without additional "r" at and of the nick the @ function work
Hidden NT7 stuff is a very crazy theme... any questions in the deep for NT7 main classes will be blocked by ninja support. Many GUI options can use with classhelpers and new internal type converters. For direct access to all account/order/strategie values you can use a internal own connected SQL client. For direct access to the quote/tick data storrage use gomi's base classes or write your own file functions.
My own currently "open hidden points":
- change any bar type propertys with a indicator code (equal use the dropdown select of a other timeframe value and automatical reload the chart with request all needed datas... many other (verdor)tools can do this, i have currently no idea to do this self
- direct access to all "pricemarkervalues" of any loaded chart indicators. Its give a alternate "DataBox" as addon, with realize/use exact this hidden function... for a planned/needed logging tool i have currently no idea to do this self
I think the Mention works fine. I messed up before and entered your name with an R, that wasn't you and I edited the message and then it turned black. I think you are fine... I messed up.
It just happened, now, for me to see your very old post on this issue, and, based on your reply, I decided to ask you the following. (Sorry for this delay, but I think this issue may be critical and certainly interests many programmers around the globe.)
It is known, that Ninja support blocks the, so called, NT 7 's "hidden" : elements, functions, statements, commands, etc. The reason is obvious, but, in my opinion, is not fair !...
When they (Ninja support) are being asked to provide some information or documentation about these "hidden" elements, functions, etc. they just (only) reply that these functions "are not supported !" (they don't say that they don't "exist", they just say they are "not supported" !).
So I am interested to get some information on the following NT7's "hidden" functions, commands, statements, etc:
a) How do you "pause" or "halt" an automated strategy from within the ninjascript ,and what is the relative documentaion of these statements/commands/functions ?
b) How do you "restart" an automated strategy (from within the ninjascript) after it has been paused or halted and what is the relative documentation ?
c) how do you add extra buttons on the chart, like : strategy ON, strategy OFF, strategy PAUSE (either as add-on or from within the script) ?
d) how do you enable the "Chart trader" when a strategy is enabled (I am not sure if this is feasible with a hidden function)
d) finally, what is the total NT 7's list of the existing "hidden" elements, functions, etc and their relative documentation ? This information must be released, some day, to the traders; we need to have fair rules on this issue, it should not be kept secret. This is my opinion, and I think many will agree with me...
It would be very helpfull to all of us (Elite members) if anyone (on this forum) has availble this information and wants to share it with us. Any piece of information would be useful. And I think many of us will benefit.
