I have been a programmer for 12+ years (C#, java) and recently discovered the joy of putting those skills to work for myself through trading strategy automation. My current direction is to become completely automated by focusing on 2-3 good automated strategies within Ninjatrader and taking my emotions completely out of this game. I have one profitable strategy working and I'm looking for more. If you have an idea I can help you automate it for a win-win for both of us.

This is Bin speaking. I am a private futures trading in Netherlands. Previously I have worked in the front office of the investment banking arm of a major European bank. I have quited my job since last July and started a new journey as a private Prop futures trader.

I trade mainly FDAX in the European time zone and I also trade crude and Gold futures on the side. My trading style is human discretionary aided by a private volatility pattern recognition system. And the average trades per day is close to 20. Average holding time is less than 10 mins.

Currently I am still in an early stage of trader development and the biggest challenge for me on the mental side of the game.
The quote I like the most is that "the trading is simple but not so easy". The simple part is the technical or intellectual challenge. Actually, it is not so difficult to design a system with a sizeable edge in the market as a private trader. But to follow through your plan when going gets tough is not easy at all. I still got a lot work to do on that front.

Hope to share more with other intraday traders on DAX or Crude.

I have not been able to post due to some health problems that finally ended quite recently.
I mainly trade crude intra day, or should I say try to trade crude...
A friend of mine introduced me to trading a few years ago, I quickly got the bug and was convinced that within a few months I would be a successful trader.
Of course everybody knows the outcome of that kind of wishful thinking.
So after quite some time away from the screens, I am back and very happy to be here.
Maybe I will find a more suitable way of trading through this community, I have been looking into harmonics just lately, and I rather like the approach.
If any of you out there are harmonic specialists I would be glad to hear from you.

I've been trading options & futures for quite a while now on & off, but now I feel as if I've really created an edge when I did research on systems trading & algorithms. I've downloaded bloodhounds trial & I'm obsessed, been at it for 10 hours a day minimum.

If there's anyone out there studying system trading and algorithms that would like to team up & create exciting trade ideas & solve algorithic problems I would be glad to sit in.

I use to think value value value! How can the market keep ripping or diving, I would short & short, & continuously lose trying to find bottoms & tops.

I've been actively trading options for 1.5 years. I would like to learn enough to wade into futures. I'm trying to learn TOS think script to program my own scans. I've found this a difficult task, the guides seem convoluted and I'm left wanting for the simple tutorial/workbook example to try on my own. Think Script searches led me here & I'm eager to learn.

nice to join the community here. When I am looking for a solution for a particular analysis or implementation in Ninjatrader I often got redirected to this forum. Hope to learn a lot...
