I recently purchased a new computer with Windows7 home premium installed. I tried to download a indicator from Big Mikes. Every thing looked fine but I could not get ninja to unzip the darn thing. Now on my old computer with XP I never had this problem. Contacted Ninja they said "we do not support Windows7, so no help from us..period, no work around, nadda. I was told to wait for for Ninja 7'. Who knows when/if that will be released. In the mean time MSFT ends support for XP. Any suggestions as to how to install those indicators would be most appreciated.
P.S. I use a third party Autotrader and this works just fine.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hi Mike,
Thanks for responding to my post. I get no error message. Ninja simply will not open the zip. files. I.E... Control Center... Utilities...Import NinjaScript...(Yes)...-Import NinjaScript Archive File- appears and a list of zip. files is on this window. I then highlight a Compressed (zipped) folder for the indicator. Click open. A new screen opens and says "no items match your search".
On second thought, I really don't think that is a NinjaTrader error. I think you are hitting the wrong button or something on the dialog box. Can you post a screen shot of the error message please ("no items match your search").
I do not think it is a corrupted indicator as I have attempted to download several indicators and have incountered the same problem. I am following the same steps I used on the old computer, I think. I just cannot open the zip file. How do you do it?
I have done as you suggested on two indicators with great results. Previously I (old computer/XP) I did not copy and past to the Indicator file and all loaded just fine..this copy/paste process will be s.o.p. henceforth. Once again thank you for your patience/assistance. Mike
