I have had errors in the past and have been able to fix after compiling. This error is more tenacious. I think the .dll's are my prob and I don't want to start deleting anything without knowlege.
I am posting a screenshot of my errors. TEMA seems to be the offender. This indicator cant be deleted because it's original Ninja. Also, no @TEMA is there either.
Any suggestions.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Well, that's another unusual thing. This indicator is active if I load it however it was not in the edit ninjsrip> Indicators> ncat list with all the other ncat indicators. Looked several times. Any thoughts.
Another piece of info. There were about 6 other error/conflicts. Deleted those indicators and they resolved. All this happened when I downloaded a volatility extreme indicator from here. When I did there was a message that said there were newer components already on my system. I should have passed but I pushed it through anyway thinking it would work. dang!
I went through a few of the recently installed indicators as you said. That didn't work. So I did a search for the culprit indicator (spread scalper) to execute your first suggestion...since it was not visiable in indicators folder. That worked and there were multiple files and .dlls and such. Deleted them. Bam...that worked...partially. Cleared out the error I had before but created a new one.
new error states: Metadata File C:Users...NinjaTrader7\bin\Custom\ncatSpreadScalper.dll' could not be found
when i search my c drive for ncatSpreadScalper this name pulls up in the following type of files:
Log files. 11 of them.
trace files. 11 of them...these all have a corresponding number to the log files.
Also, several of my "template" code pages that contained this indicator an one "config" page turned up. My "template" pages and "config" are all code on an Internet Explorer Page. I found the line items within the code that referrences this indicator. My best guess would be to surgically remove these line items from code...how do you properly do that. And I don't want to start hacking something up without guidance.
Googled this problem and fixed missing .dll issue. (however have original error appearing).
I fixed missing .dll issue by:
1. Perform a normal compile.
2. Right click in the code field (above the error field)
3. Select "References"
4. Select the offending .dll and delete it.
5. Restart NT.
If this is correlated to an indicator that you want I would suggest a reinstall, however, I have not tested this. I just wanted the indicator gone.
It looks like a stock indicator is showing up in several locations. If I go to delete the indicator with the error it states that there are shared files and it cannot delete the indicator.
This occurred when I downloaded volatility indicator from here... not the one listed in the error. However, this problem is my fault. When I downloaded it I got a message stating that "newer versions of some of the components are already on this PC"..or something like that. It asked me if I wanted to proceed so I pushed the indicator through...that's where I went wrong.
These are instructions from NT. This worked for me. however use your own discretion here.
