A frank description of the Israel lobby's importance in the US political process comes from Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the head of the Democratic National Committee, speaking in Charlotte to a group of Jewish Democrats. In the video clip here, Wasserman Schultz says that support for Israel in the United States is politically indivisible and American Jews have a responsibility to assure that that support is never politicized.

I think the Democrats just made it a political issue last night! Nobody can look at that original video and not know the Democratic Leadership was pandering to Israel. Democrats ought to be as furious with that stunt as Republicans are with Ron Paul's ejection, and if they are not angry, they need to get a medical checkup, because something really important has been cut out of their brain when they were not looking.
