Trying to implement this:



You can highlight text from a post, and it will automatically format it as a QUOTE reply. The only thing not working is it doesn't auto-paste into the textbox on the New Reply screen, you'll have to manually hit Ctrl-V to paste.

I will get that fixed. Let me know if you like this feature.

Yep, it's working. Nice, and very easy once you get the hang of it.

You have to highlight the text and then release the mouse button while it's still on the text. You will get a black box that says "Quote". Click on that and it opens a Reply window with the quoted text in. Pretty neat.

If you release the mouse somewhere off the text, nothing happens. (For instance, if you drag across the text, highlighting it, take the cursor on past the now-highlighted text and then release it.) However, if it's still highlighted, you can just left-click on it and you'll get the "Quote" box and it works.

It only works for text. If you are replying to a post that has an image, such as a screenshot or chart, you can highlight the image too, but only the text is carried over. If you use the regular Quote button, it will bring the image over too.

Because it lets you selectively quote parts of the text very easily, I think it's still a pretty good feature.

I also added an auto re-focus of cursor to end of textarea input on page load for new replies. So no need to scroll, you can just start typing once the page loads.

Mike, here is a new bug that I started noticing the last few days.

The New Posts total on the main page does not correctly update if you go into the New Posts list, read some or all the items, and then go back to the main page.

Today I went into the New Posts list, which in this case initially had 44 items. I gradually looked at all of them, which reduced the count of remaining items if I refreshed the New Posts page. When I was done, the New Posts page had a correct count of 0, and all the items on the list showed they had been viewed.

At this point, in the past if I returned to the main NexusFi page, the New Posts tally would be refreshed to the new total, which should show as zero. Today, I returned to the main page by clicking on the "Fi" icon, and it shows the original total of 44: This screenshot is after I returned, so the right number was 0:



When I clicked on the New Posts (44) now, I got this message, this message, which is correct, and which has the correct tally:



This started recently, and I'm not sure if it was when the "Fi" icon replaced "NexusFi" as what I clicked to return, but it may have.

Edit: to be clear, when the "Fi" icon here is clicked to return, that's when the main page does not refresh, but has the old tally:




When the main "NexusFi" logo at the top of the New Posts pate is clicked, then when the main page returns, it does refresh with the new tally.

An issue with Journals being excluded from the "Best" summary has been corrected. There was no bad intention, it was simply working by design. It was designed a long time ago and I cannot recall why I excluded journals at that time, but I see no reason for it to continue.
