Currently I have Ninja as my charting package with AMP as my broker with data feed from CQG provided by AMP. What is happening is that I have a Cumulative Delta indicator from Ranchdinero that has a option to use bid/ask information. What happens currently, is that I open my chart and none of the historical information is back filled, only the forward real time information. I wanted to switch to Sierra Charting services and was wondering if anyone uses Sierra and if they are able to get the Cumulative Delta with the bid/ask. If so may I ask how you configuring your input and what services make up the configuration. It may not be possible but I thought someone here in the room may use Sierra. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hector
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thanks Silvester. I talked to Ninja and they don't know when they will come out with NT8 and they are not sure if they will be able to have historical data. Thanks though for passing the information to me. I would rather know twice than not know at all. What a great forum.
Yes, Cumulative Delta works fine with Sierra Chart, it is built-in. Sierra Chart also natively supports bid/ask backfill with supported providers like IQFeed, so it means you can download historical data (120 days) of backfill for cumulative delta.
Thanks Mike. Actually you answered part of my question about Sierra does support CD with bid/ask. Also you mentioned a supported provider like IQFeed. That has narrowed my question down. Now will my current data feed, which is CQG thru AMP futures, work to get the ultimate result of backfilling for Cumulative Delta. If this works it will make my day. Also if you don't mind me asking what package would I need to subscribe to in Sierra to get the CD with bid/ask. Thanks Mike, you have a great platform for traders thru out the field.
I looked briefly, it seems Sierra does not support CQG. I would recommend switching brokers to a Zen Fire broker or CTS broker, and/or other supported brokers in combination with IQFeed.
Thanks Mike, I just finished looking also and did not see CQG or AMP as supported feeds or brokers. Thanks
for checking it out for me. If I may ask what broker you use and with what feed. I am thinking about changing.
Yes, sierra supports bid/ask volume analysis like cumulative delta. You should look at sierra's info online to find out which data providers provide what type of backfill. You will be glad you switched to Sierra. The guys at Ninja are nice, but Sierra is a professionally done program that has real built-in tools, and does not require numerous patchwork add-ons to be functional (though if you want to wait another few years for NT8 to be released and become stable and still be way behind SC, go for it ) -- and this is coming from a guy who has a lifetime NT license.
