I am looking for a way to flatten all working and filled orders at a specific time but I am struggling to figure out a way to do this with Thinkorswim.

After looking throughout the software for an option, I am considering that creating a strategy may be the only way to go.

Can anyone help with this problem?

Thanks!!

Have you written any other automated strategies on it that work?

I can write strategies but I can't get an order to go through.
All it does is place an arrow where my strategy would have bought/sold.

If you have had orders go through, can you post an example?

Hmmm . . . I have never implemented a strategy with live trading. Generally, I am not at the point where I would need this other than to just flatten all of my orders and holdings at the end of the day.

I realize that the "Flatten Now" button accomplishes this, but I have to manually hit this at the time I want it to be entered. I would rather have this be automated at the time I specify.

Currently, I create closing orders that are timed to submit at the end of the day. There are several problems with this:

- The closing orders do not cancel any of my bracket orders or any other limit/stop orders I have entered.

- Often, I have stop orders that can reverse my position. If one of these orders are triggered, my closing order may double my holdings at the end of the day.

So . . . maybe a strategy is not the option I am looking for. Is there any way to essentially put in an order to "Flatten Now" at a specified time?

Thanks for any help!

I've been waiting for ToS to come out with an update on the automation end.
As of right now, I can't do that.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I will be waiting, as well.

On Monday, I will bring this up with Thinkorswim. Hopefully, as more people request it they will make it a priority.
