So what do you guys think is going on with Lost? I'm a bit lost this season
It seems they are living out two different lives at the same time? Right? In both cases, it is present day it seems? One "present day" is what happens when the flight lands safely at LAX, and the other present day is back on the island?
For a while I thought the island is some kind of hell, and they were dead. What do you think?
So we know Locke can turn into the Smoke Monster, I guess that means the prior Smoke Monster we saw was Jacob, right?
What do you think about the Japanese guy (can't remember his name -- the one who always uses a translator at the Temple yet speaks perfect English). Is this guy a good guy or bad guy? He seems to be concerned about Jacob/Locke (aka Smoke Monster), so does that make him friend or foe of Jack, Kate and the others?
Also, do you think Juliet is really dead? I liked her character, so I hope not. I liked her and Sawyer together, so I hope they end up together.
Yes, it seems Sawyer was wrong or only half right when he said Jack had failed. It looks like it split them or made doubles. The prior/current smoke monster is the other mysterious old timer who was Jacobs nemesis who couldn't kill Jacob himself. He had to change his form to look like Locke to trick Ben into killing Jacob. Now he has no counterbalance on the island to keep him in check.
I think this season has been great so far but it just doesn't lend itself to much discussion.
4 episodes back I would have laughed if someone said Claire would be a bad guy and they would be both on and off the island by episode 3 of the new season...
One thing I thought was interesting this week was how things kind of mirrored
what happened on the island with Claire in the version of them not crashing with being paranoid about her baby.
Man I really enjoyed it, the story on this alternate Locke is really good. But I am concerned, how are they going to answer all the questions?? I mean there are only what, 12 episodes left? They've got a lot of explaining still to do
I think this season will one to remember out of all them. There is so much hype from the media, studio, producers, and critics that anything short of spectacular would be a major disappointment. The reality of their lives as if the plane never crashed in the first place is causing a harsh look at how their lives were really miserable and even amongst the danger and chaos on the island they had a real purpose and drive, ie, survival, work together, and making making real choices that effect the outcomes of their well being, and using their talents/character to live on this mysterious island. I think the show is great and wish there were more seasons in the future as most shows on TV these days are horrific.
I thought last episode was fantastic, but I care less about old questions being answered and more that the story comes to a satisfying conclusion.
I thought awhile back that the story was trying to go for some free will vs determinism theme, they seemed to have left that theme for awhile but I do think that is what in the end the show will be about.
No way they are going to wrap the story up in a neat little package for us though...I wouldn't doubt the ending will be david lynchesque, kind of making sense but largely not and alot of people are going to hate it.
I hate TV shows pretty much too, once this is over and I'm down I'm going to finally start watching The Wire, which I know will dull the pain..
