I usually have that same mindset when looking at other extreme activities. But there is something about this that I am attracted too. I'm not sure why but it looks beautiful and I can hardly believe that its possible for a human to fly down a mountain like that.
I love the idea of personal flying and flight. I wouldn't mind flying like that but only if I was like "superman". Otherwise it's just bush flying in a plane for me. (sim)
I did tandem skydiving a few years ago and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Hopefully I can make trading work so I can explore this subject more in the future.
I think that at this point in my life, trading is a prerequisite for almost all my future hobbies. I have a couple hobbies that keep me sane right now, but anything that will cost a significant amount of money will have to wait till I'm more financially viable. Hopefully its trading that will take me to where I want to be.
In my humble opinion, you would have a very hard time trading, if your objective was to extract money out of the markets to finance the things you love in the first place.

No doubt these guys are a bit nuts, but they overcame their fear for their passion and I respect them for that.

Trading is my passion, but I do have other hobbies. When I first started trading It was to obtain wealth but as time passed and money was lost, I developed a passion for trading in itself. So in a way trading is a lot like any other passion one might have but in order to focus on other things I must focus on trading first.
I definitely trade for the hope of future returns and wealth but trading in order to do extreme activities is not my goal. Flying just fascinates me and I thought I'd share. I can't imagine ever do what those guys do, that's way to crazy. But I would not mind getting into skydiving in the future.
