Hey guys, NEWB here!
Thinking of making the switch from ensign windows to ninja. in the screen shot you can see how easy it is to create a custom indicator using EW. the screenshot is the spread between 2 moving ave, both weighted, and shown as a histogram colored for above or below, I hae some that are rising or falling as well. I am not a programmer, but would like to learn what is necessary to be able to do this myself, how steep is the learning curve? are there any examples of writing indicators in ninja?

Thanks guys!

The indicator interface is more like SierraChart, check it out. The best way to learn Ninja coding is to change existing simple indicators and see the results.

I have an indicator I designed in Ensign, 4 of the elements of it are spreads between weighted MAs shown as either lines or histograms (see jpeg). My hope was to get the the indicator in ninja and auto trade it. I was hoping for a specific example, something I could build on/learn from. I have searched for videos on the web about building custom indicators but haven found anything yet. funny, but when you say change an existing, I still dont know where to start.... I guess Im in a bad state of affairs..

Thanks again

You are asking quite a bit. A good place to start is the Ninja help file. It shows the process of creating and changing indicators. In the help file go to "educational resources", then "developing indicators". I also recommend spending quality time in the "language reference" section.

I think there is also a NexusFi (formerly BMT) video or two about ninjascript programming. - edit: Sorry did not observe that you are not an elite member so no video for you...

Enjoy the journey.
