Hi. Is it possible in the scanner provided with tradestation to have it scan for crossovers? Like on stockcharts dot com you can use a MA[50] < MA[200](1) and MA[50](1) > MA[200]. Cant seem to figure out how to do that in tradestation but seems easy enough I am sure it is standard I must just be missing something.

yes, this is possible. If you are having trouble setting up the scan because Tradestation won't let you reference the previous bars of the average in the scanner, you can do it with a simple custom code like this one:

 
Code
Inputs:
	Average1Length 		( 50 ),
	Average2Length 		( 200 );

Variables:
	Average1 			( 0 ),
	Average2 			( 0 ),
	CrossValue 			( 0 );
	
//compute averages
Average1 = Average( Close, Average1Length ) ;
Average2 = Average( Close, Average2Length ) ;

if Average1 > Average2 and Average1[1] < Average2[1] then
	CrossValue = + 1 //up cross
else
if Average1 < Average2 and Average1[1] > Average2[1] then 
	CrossValue = - 1 //dn cross
else
	CrossValue = 0 ; //no cross
	
Plot1( CrossValue, "Cross" ) ;
You can use the value for CrossValue in the scanner - +1 means an up cross on this bar, -1 is a down cross and 0 is no cross.
