I know this is forex only but this graphic over at interactive brokers is interesting.
Not sure why they hide Citi down in the 6th slot rather than prominently behind them.
Very interesting, thanks! Hard to tell if IB just attracts better traders or how much can be attributed to their price quotes.
Surprisingly is how many are still under in the Red, especially if presuming there are long term non-trading style accounts at IB for that number to still be that low.
This stat includes inactive accounts that earn pennies on interest... thus not exactly an accurate reflection. Probably closer to 10% profitable... with only 1% who get to keep what they made.
You are never in the wrong place... but sometimes you are in the right place looking at things in the wrong way.
Anyway if you look back at 6/7 years ago, I remember, that the % of profitable traders was a lot less. But I'm agree with Anagami that this stats are not very significant.
