I've had some help with confirming the actual trading hours for the Future Indexes before,
but a few different scenarios have come up, with each conflicting one another
Here's what has me confused ....
1. I trade on the TorS platform , and at 3:00 p.m. cst. The Bell goes off and rings ( signifying that it is the end of the trading day )
Well , I thought that Futures trading didn't end till 4:15 p.m. cst. and then started back trading at 5:00 p.m. cst. ?
So from 3 p.m. cst till 4:15 p.m. ...... is this RTH or ETH ?
2. Looking into both TopStep Trader and NADEX , Both of these close down for the trading day around similar times ...... TopStep's trading hours for the ES is from 5 p.m. cst. till 3:10 p.m. cst. ,
and NADEX's trading hrs. for the ES is from 5 p.m. cst till 3:15 p.m. ( for their Daily BullCall spreads )
( so both TopStep and NADEX have close to the same trading Hours )
Any confirmation on the distinction between RTH and ETH would be much appreciated
Thanks for the help
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I know I keep harping on looking up the futures contract specifications but I still think that's your best source for all these questions. Thats the most accurate source to find out what the "ETH" is for any product you are interested in. For RTH also, it varies. ES and equities open at 8:30 AM CT and close at 3 PM, WTI Crude and petroleum products open at 8 AM CT, while WTI closes at 1:30 PM, petroleum products close at 2:15 PM. I think Gold opens at 7:10 AM and closes at 2 PM (not too sure about this). Alternatively, you can just look at volume on a 1 min chart and see when the "pit" opens and closes. Volume will show you that.
