Hi.

i'm planning to add more contracts.before that i'm basically criticizing all of my losing trades.i'm not particularly happy with the ratio of my winning & losing days in a month.i need a standard to compare.

so,how many losing days in a month you guyz think r acceptable?on average how many points u stand to lose on all those losing trades combined?

(i've 5-8 losing days in a month & i take highest 2 points loss in a day-if that got hit,i'm done for that day)

This is a difficult question for anyone else to answer in my opinion. Your strategy could allow 30% wins and still be profitable depending on your trade management. Someone else may have a strategy that allows losses of 50 points per day based on their profit. You have to find these numbers for yourself with your strategy. One thing I found with increasing contracts however is that if you are not profitable with 1, you won't be with 2 or 3 if you're using the same strategy. In the same grain, make sure you trade the same with multiples as you did with fewer contracts. I know when I first starting increasing contracts, I also started scaling in/out which was not in my original strategy, so I changed my trading because of the contracts traded. This is okay if this is your plan but just be conscious of it if you do.

Run a Monte Carlo simulation. That will give you an idea of what sort of draw downs you can expect in those 'extreme times' where you get an abnormal number of losses in a row. It's something Kevin Davey, aka @kevinkdog covers a lot in his book and in his thread
