hi
Does any of you started to trade in real account for real money using NT8 build 8 ?
Did you find any problems to do it .
I am specially interested if you have account in AMP
I did not started it yet
Do you think we should wait for official release before we start trading with it ? Or can we start sooner ?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I am sure there are people using it, and someone who is may want to speak about it. I would not use it now.
The basic definition of "beta" software is software that has not had enough testing to be used for real yet. Software that is in beta test has been made available to users so they can find the bugs. It is understood that there still are bugs, and that they need to be found before it can be put into production.
If you want to put real money into anything that fits that description, you are brave. The risk is that you will lose due to a software error, instead of your own trading. Why take the chance? No doubt someone is using it, but they are also aware that they are testers, not regular users.
I've actually taken a live trade on it, on the Dax. I had it open one day, connected, the market made spike and looked liked continuing. I entered using the new Dom. Everything worked as expected. I always have a second account open in case I need to hedge something off though....so be careful with it. That said, could this version be any worse than NT7 for Bugs? Lol,,,,
Even the folks at NinjaTrader do not consider NT8 stable enough to trade live money.
That's why it's called "beta" software. "Beta" means "user-beware".
If you trade live money with beta software, you are taking unnecessary risk.
If you lose money with beta software, due to the beta software having
a problem, it will actually be your own fault.
DO NOT TRADE LIVE MONEY WITH BETA SOFTWARE!
When NT8 exits the beta program, rest assured that NT folks will be marketing the
heck out of the new release -- you will not miss the public launching of NT8, it
will be everywhere.
I tried NT8 and in fast market movements it lags a lot, I tried it on CL, tried to do same real trades and and I was not filled. Bigger problem is if you are already in the market and you want to close positions.
I made some screen recording, if I have time I will post them somewhere in the forum.
Yes, I just tried yesterday, and maybe is for that, when market moves fast with this mouse freezing feature it seems that is almost impossible to get filled, the price has already gone. I will tried further...
If the Dynamic SuperDOM new "Freeze" feature is not the culprit, our development team definitely would like to work with you to understand this. Please send the video to our support team.
In the last two weeks I did not see particular delay differences NT8 and Rithmic DOMs, even during the release of Crude Oil Inventories. Only a small lag on 02.03.2016 after about 20/25 minutes from the release of Crude Oil Inventories. So I do not know whether it is useful to include here my screen's recordings, also because you only see the difference between 2 DOMs quotes. If It happens again I will try to record it better.
Be careful attempting this. Still testing it now at 8.0.0.9 and running into some strange issues like P&L totals not outputting the correct values and numerous other issues.
Check over on the NT forum in the NT8 beta testing area and you can give feedback for any issues you run into to help get them fixed up quicker.
Paper trade only with it unless you have the $ to risk if you run into a issue while live trading.
Your other option is to use a 2nd platform that's not NT for executing live trades on but use NT8 for some of your charting. Have had to do that anyway for the last 10mths because of all the issues with NT7.
NT8 looks like it will fix everything lacking in NT7 and then some once its all bug free. Fastest way to get there is to help beta test it and report everything to get it fixed.
