I am looking for a unfiltered tick data provider for HSI. The caveat is that I use Ninjatrader and am keen to continue using it.
I've done a fair bit of looking around and can only find esignal which is slugging me $175 per month just for HKFE data (which is $4 per month for the data and $171 for esignal premier which I won't use).
CQG have it but it doesn't work with their free trial on NT and none of NT supported brokers offer CQG other than AMP which don't offer HKFE.
IB is my broker however they don't offer tick data.
If anyone has any suggestions or experiences it would be greatly appreciated.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
IB's HKFE market data which will give the real time price feed at a good price (feed is aggregated) or
connect to any of the HK brokers that can offer you a Continuum real time feed for NT and pay the CQG exchange fee,or
investigate Phillip Futures Exchange Acess | Phillip Capital
Phillips has an extensive Asian exchanges linkup and they do support NT on Continuum.
IF you need tick data to support your algos, or order flow then the IB option is out, otherwise, IB real time feed + HKEX tick data backfill would be a cheaper option.
I would need the real time tick data i.e. like a continuum / CQG feed. So what you are saying is I could go to Phillips Futures or any other Hong Kong broker which offers it, open an account, get a CQG / Continuum feed (I actually dont know the difference between the two if you do?) and then hook it into NT as my front end rather than the platforms they offer? Why I ask this is I actually spoke to Phillips and they said they dont offer NT which might be technically correct but I still might be able to plug the CQG feed in?
What I am a bit unclear on is the CQG / Continuum thing with NT. My understanding (which I am may be completely wrong) was that new NT licences (from around mid Jan 2015) blocks other CQG/Continuum feeds which are not complimentary to their brokerage firm. Or does it simply block their brokerage capability and allows the data? If it is the latter that is fine as I have an account with IB and their commissions are by far the cheapest although I don't know what their execution is like yet.
