I used to trade much longer time horizons than I do currently. Shortening the life-cycle on my trades from days or weeks down to just a few minutes several times a day was, in part, an effort to improve my consistency. Those big weekly and monthly PnL swings can get a bit irritating when trading is your only source of income... Besides, when scalping or day-trading, you tend to figure out a lot quicker if your system needs to be recalibrated. Learned that the hard way...
